USING BE AND HAVE

1. Using Be (Tobe)
Tobe divided into two part:
a. Am, Is, Are (tobe used in the present time)
 Am (I)
Example: I am in the campus now.
 Is ( she, he, it, or name of the people)
Example: She is in the campus now
Ani is in the campus now
 Are (you, they, we)
Example: You are in the campus now
They are in the campus now
We are in the campus now
b. Was and Were (Tobe used in the past time)
 Was (I, She, He, It)
Example: I was in the beach yesterday
He was in the beach yesterday
 Were (You, They, We)
Example: You was in the beach yesterday
c. Pronoun + tobe
Example: I am a teacher
My father is farmer
d. Demonstrative Pronoun (that/this,these/those) + tobe (is,are)
Example: This is apple
Those are apples
e. Expletive (there is/are)
Examle: There is a bottle under the chair
There are bottle under the chair
f. Tobe used for Noun, Adjective, Adverb, Ing form
Example for noun: She is a teacher
Eexample for adjective: You are beautiful
Example for Adverb: I am in the kitchen
Example for Ing form: He is sleeping in his bad
g. Sentances of tobe (pisitive,Negative,Introgative)
Example : (+) She is your friend
(-) She is not your friend
(?) Is she your friend?
h. Sentences with question words (Who, What, Where, When, which, Why, Whose)
Example: what is your name?
Where are you now?
Who are your classmate?
2. Using Have and Has
a. Have and Has as auxiliary verb
Example: I have met with your mother two days ago
She has met with your mother two days ago
b. Have and has as main verb
Example: he has two cake
I have a pen
3. Making sentence with have has (+, -, ?)
Example: (+) I have eaten last night
(-) I have not eaten last night
(?) Have i eaten last night?
PRESENT TIME PART 1

Present Time is the form of time used to tell an event or action that is being done that
time.present time using frequency adverb like :ussually, always,sometimes,often,saldom. And olso
tpresent time using verb 1.
The Formula of present tense
(+) S + VERB 1 + S/ES + O
(-) S + DO NOT/DOES NOT + VERB 1 + O
(?) DO/DOES + S +VERB 1 + O
Example: (+) I uderstand with this material
(-) I don’t uderstand with this material
(?) Do I understant with this material?

PRESENT TIME PART 2

1. Present countinous tense


The formula of present countinous tense
(+) S + TOBE + VERB 1 + ing + O
(-) S + TOBE + NOT + VERB 1 + ing + O
(?) TOBE + S + VERB 1 + ing + O

Example: (+) I am eating now

(-) I am not eating now

(?) Am i eating now?

Another examples: I need a cup of coffee

I want to drink coffee now

2. There + tobe
Examples : There are books on the table (plural)
There is a plate on the table (singular)
How many plate on the table?
EXPRESSING PAST TIME

Past time is the verb form you use to tak about things that happened in the past.

The form for verbal:


(+) S + VERB 2 + O
(-) S + DID NOT + VERB 1 + O
(?) DID + S + VERB 1 + O

Examples:
1. He joined the sircus last week
He didn’t join the sircus last week
Did he join the sircus last week?
2. My mother bought the bag yesterday
My mother didn’t buy the bag yesterday
Did my mother buy the bag yesterday?

The form for non verbal:

(+) S + TOBE 2 + ADJ + O

(-) S + TOBE 2 NOT + ADJ + O

(?) TOBE 2 + S + ADJ + O

Examples:

1. I was hungry yesterday


I was not hungry yesterday
Was I hungry yesterday?
2. She was sad last night
She was not sad last night
Was she sad last night?
EXPRESSING FUTURE TIME

Future time is the verb from you use to talk about things that have not happened yet.
1. Will
The formula of future time (will)
Formula for verbal
(+) S + will + verb
(-) S + will not + verb
(?) Will + S + Verb
Example:

We will go to campus this afternoon

We will not go to campus this afternoon

Will we go to campus this afternoon?

Formula for non verbal:


(+) S + will be + adj
(-) S + will not be + adj
(?) Will + S + be + adj
Example : she will be happy
She will not be happy
Will she be happy?
2. Tobe + Going To
Formula
(+) S + Tobe + Going To + Verb
(-) S + Tobe + Not + Going To + Verb
(?) Tobe + S + Going To + Verb
Example: I am going to see my mother yesterday
I am not going to see my mother yesterday
Am I going to see my mother yesterday?
Expessing Ebility

Expressing ebility is to show/express ability can be done with two words : can and able.
1. Can and Able + Verb
 Can
 I can finish my exam (present)
 I could finish the exam (past)
 Able
 I am able to finish the exam (present)
 I was able to finish the exam (past)
2. Can and able + Object
 Can
 I can eat spacy food (present)
 I could eat spacy food (past)
 Able
 I am able to eat spacy food
 I was able to spacy food
3. Can and Able In Introgative Sentence
 Can
 Can I finish the exam ?
 Could I finish the exam ?
 Able
 Am I able to finish my exam?
 Was I able to finish my exam?
4. By Using Prase
 I know haw to finish my exam (present)
 I knew how to finish my exam (past)
 Do I know how to finish my exam (introgative)
 Did I know how to finish my exam (introgative)
NOUNS AND PRONOUNS, ADJECTIVE

1. Nouns : subject and object


Example: Ami buys an apple
Ami and Ana buy a book
2. Adjective + noun
Example : I am hungry
I like maggo
3. Subject pronoun and object pronoun
Subject : I, you, they, we, she, he, it
Object: Me, you, our, us, her, his, it’s
Example : I go to beach
We go to school
Our mother go to market
4. Singular and plural
Example : my mother buys manggos (plural)
I lost my books (plural)
I have an apple (singular)
He buy a book (singular)
5. Coun and Noncount
Countable noun: book,pen,table, plate,etc
Uncountable noun: sugar,grass,sand, dust ect
Example: i see a plate on the table (countable)
I add many sugar in my coffee (uncountable)
6. Using An and A
Example: there is an apple on the plate
There is a book on the table
7. Using The
Example: The cat is cute
The book is small
The knife is sharp
8. Some and Any
Example: there is some book on my bad
There is any grass in front of my house
MAKING COMPARISONS

1. Positif Digree
(+) S + tobe as ......as + O
(-) S + tobe not + as.....as + o
(?) Tobe + S + as.....as + o
Example :
(+) I am as tall as Adah
(-) I am not as tall as Adah
(?) Am I as tall as Adah?
2. Comparative digree
(+) S + tobe + .....er than + O
(-) S + tobe not + .....er than + O
(?) Tobe + S + .....er than + O
Example :
(+) Adah is taller than me
(-) Adah is not taller than me
(?) Is Adah taller than me?

Another example:
(+) My car is more expevsive than your car
(-) My car is not more expensive than your car
(?) Is my car more expensive than your car?
3. Superlative digree
(+) S + tobe + the ....est
(-) S + tobe not + the...est
(?) Tobe + S + the ....est
Example:
(+) My house is the bigest
(-) My house is not the bigest
(?) IS my house is the bigest
Another example:
(+) My car is the most expensive
(-) My car is not the most expensive
(?) Is my car is the most expensive
EXPRESSING IDEAS WITH VERB

The modal verb should to express idea and opinions and to give advice.
Form :
SHOULD + VERB
SHOULD NOT + VERB (SHOULDN’T)
Examples :
1. The boy should do his homework
2. You shouldn’t work so hard.

Examples using should to give advice and/or oponion :

1. You should to eat salad


2. She should to give her mother money
3. You shouldn’t to smoke so much. It’s very bed for your health.
