Screen structure
1. Set search conditions.
2. Display search result. Users can check and download document profiles.
3. Change display preferences for search result.
4. Save and call search conditions.

1. Search conditions
Users can search with following conditions in the search condition setting menu on the left side of the screen.
Combination of multiple conditions makes “AND” search.
1) Keyword Using free word search allows to search profile information in body text of
documents. After typing strings of characters in the Keyword input box, click
the “Search” button to conduct search.
2) Model Name / Item No. Select either “Model Name” or “Item No.” (click either label), input Model
Name / Item No. in the input box and click the “Search” button to conduct
search.
3) Issued Year from --- to --- Select issued year “from” and / or "to" from the pull-down menu.

4) Released in past 1 month Documents of the latest one month’s release date can be searched.
After checking the “Released in past 1 Month” checkbox, click the “Search”
button to conduct search.
5) Clear search conditions Click the “Clear” button to clear all of the search conditions.

6) Refine search by category Narrowing search by category such as “Item Category”, “Product Category”,
etc.
Click the items in each category to conduct search.
Selected items are check-marked. Click the check-marked items to search
again without the conditions of the clicked items.
*) Search for all items
To search and display all of the items registered in Document Search, click the “Search”
button with all input boxes blank and categories unselected.

2. Search result
1) Viewer Click the thumbnail image or the "Viewer" button to activate the
6 "Viewer" screen. Point the cursor to the thumbnail image to display a
bigger image. In case of a document which body text was hit by keyword
search, at the time of "Viewer" activation, the page where the hit
included is shown and the searched keywords are highlighted.

2) Profile One hundred (100) characters each in the items of “Product Category”,
information “Target Country”, “Language”, “Model Name” and body text are shown.

In case of documents hit by Keyword search, the hit words are
highlighted.

1 3) “Details” All profile information is displayed in a new window.

4) “Related If there is a relevant document, the button becomes clickable (enabled).

2 5) “Download” Click either the button or the one showing a file extension and a
button file size to start downloading the documents.

7) Sorting Click “Item No.” label or “Issued Date” label to sort selected items.

Sorting conditions can be also changed by “3. Display preferences for
search result”.

8) “Export CSV” Search result is outputted by CSV.
button “Export CSV” button becomes clickable only if search result is less than

* Opening the file by Excel can bring character corruption.
When garbled characters are shown, use text editor or dedicated tools.
9) Close/Show Open or close the display of detailed information on one document.
Details button Open/close of detailed information of all search result can be set at “3.
Display preferences for search result”.

3. Display preferences for search result
Display preferences for search result can be changed by selecting the above buttons.
The blue buttons are currently selected items.
The contents set here are saved and will be effective at the next login.

1) Display 20: Twenty cases of search result are displayed in one page.
50: Fifty cases of search result are displayed in one page.

2) Image On: Thumbnails are shown.


Off: Thumbnails are not shown.

3) List all Close: Close all of the detailed information and only labels such as Item No., Item Category, Issued date,
etc. are shown.
Open: Open all of the detailed information and enable “Viewer” and check of the detailed information.

4) Sort by Select “Item No.”, “Score” or “Issued Date” from the pull-down menu and arrange the search result in
ascending or descending order.
* Score: At the time of the keyword search, Scores are assigned uniquely on the system in accord with
search hit rates, freshness of information, etc.; and change the order based on the Scores.

4. Save/Call search conditions
Search conditions can be saved up to four.

1) “Save” button Search conditions set in the search menu on the left side are saved.
The setting is stored in the empty place from “My Search 1” to “My Search 4” sequentially.
When the conditions are saved, “My Search” buttons with saved data become clickable (enabled).

2) “My Search1- Saved search conditions are called to conduct search.


4” button When search conditions are saved, by pointing the mouse cursor to a “My Search” button, setting
information of search conditions is shown.

3) “x” button Saved search conditions are deleted.

Recommended environment for Document Search

Security alerts can be issued upon activation of Viewer depending on the setting of Acrobat Reader.
If a security alert is displayed, follow the “Procedure for coping with the security alert display upon Viewer
activation” below.

Adobe products Acrobat Reader 10 or higher (*3)

*1: With Chrome, users cannot use the highlighter function (*4) in Viewer.
*2: With Firefox, the highlighter function may not be available in Viewer depending on the setting.
*3: Acrobat Reader is required for the use of Viewer. Although Viewer functions can be used even
in the version 9 or lower, the highlighter function in Viewer will not be available.

*4: The highlighter function is a function to color the characters hit by keyword search.

Procedure for coping with the security alert display upon Viewer activation
When the following security alert was displayed upon activation of Viewer, please follow the procedure below.

Coping procedure:
(1) Click the “Options” button.
(2) Click “Add host to Privileged Locations”.
