1) Job Purpose
To play a leading role in the development and management of an organizational culture
that achieves Business Excellence across the Domestic Textiles Business (Jaya Shree
Textiles, GPFPL and Vikram Woollens). To develop methodologies, frameworks,
strategies, policies, and plans that support the culture of business excellence and
ensures this is aligned to customer excellence and regulatory compliance. To provide
direction and leadership to the Business Excellence Teams in the units, additionally
support to the business as a facilitator.
To drive jointly with UHs/FHs for process & systems maturity enhancement and assess
process maturity level across all business functions and facilitate implementation of world
class best practices to enhance maturity level on continual basis as per Business
Excellence Frameworks.
To play a strategic role in planning and driving initiatives which will involve in-depth
studies of Business Excellence Models, systems and processes to realise each of

Responsible for the general administration of the Ecological and Sustainability driven
programs, including managing the budget and reporting on the project on IT
Platform. Advocate for sustainability practices and facilitate interaction and
collaboration amongst the teams in the business units; identify, promote and monitor
sustainability initiatives; prepare and disseminate information to the places as desired by
the management; and conduct and manage assessments.

Context
The Domestic Textiles Business of Aditya Birla Group is a niche player in the
Indian Textile industry, delivering growth faster than the industry
Domestic Textiles consist of three major businesses in the Textile Segment of the Fibre
and Textiles Sector of the Group. They are Linen, Wool and Synthetics (mainly Polyester
Viscose).
Linen Business
The Linen Business accounting for 34% of the Annual Turnover is the fastest growing
business with expansions going on since FY 2006- 2007. Major expansions in Linen
Yarn are under progress wherein additional 20000 spindles will be added almost
doubling the present capacity.
Even at the intricate stages of dyeing and finishing, new techniques are continuously
developed to add brighter colours and more innovative textures to the finished product,
and topped off by the most delicate finishing technology resulting in flawless fabric in
over 3000 different weaves, textures and blends. JST is having leadership in
domestic market, both in Linen Yarn & Linen Fabric. The phenomenal Linen Club
Brand is sold at Premium across the country.
The linen market in India has witnessed strong growth across all parts of value chain and
is expected to grow faster than the overall textile industry

Yarn consumption (7,800 MT / Rs 380 Crores, FY12) has grown at 31% value
CAGR in last 4 years (18% volume CAGR, 10% price CAGR). Expected to
grow at 17% CAGR going forward
– Yarn: ~75% market share (in-house manufacturing & trading)
Fabric production (22 Million Meters / `567 Crores, FY12) has grown at 19%
CAGR in last 4 years. Expected to grow at 12% CAGR going forward
– Fabric: ~35% market share of overall Linen; 75% market share of
Pure linen
Wool Business: (42% of TO)
JST has become a preferred Textile company for Wool Tops, 100% Wool &
Wool Blended Yarns- both for Weaving & Knitting. JST is among the Top Five
in Wool Combing and independent Worsted Spinning in the world. The Worsted
yarn is marketed under the brand “RT yarns”, “Nuvolana” and “Jayashree
Vikram Woollens was designed for the captive consumption of Poly Wool dyed yarn
for the erstwhile Gwalior Suiting. After the exit of Gwalior suiting, VW operates as an
Independent spinning unit and is emerging as a leader in Wool Business in India in
terms of Quality
Wool constitutes 3-5% in terms of value in India’s overall textile market growing
moderately at 2 - 5%
India wool production is ~2% of global wool production and 85% of
India’s domestic raw wool production (43,000 tons) is of carpet grade
Domestic demand has been growing moderately at 2-5% across the
value chain
India imports most of the apparel grade finer quality wool from
Australia, South Africa
Growth for the wool business will come from servicing the export
market
– Looking at both integrated and independent players, Wool business
has moderate share in domestic market: Wool Combing: ~20%,
Worsted Yarn: 7-8%
PV Business: (24% of TO)
Grasim Bhiwani Textiles Limited is well known for its branded suiting, Grasim and
Graviera, mainly in the polyester - cellulosic branded menswear. GBTL's plant is
located at Bhiwani (Haryana). Fabric operations are centralized at Bhiwani with a
processing capacity of 18.0 million meters a year.
PV fabric market in India is dominated by Un-organized sector (60% of Fabric
Market, ` 6,000 Cr) – driven by low cost structures of un-organized players. Even in
Organized sector, limited differentiation can be achieved based on product quality
– Leads to low entry barriers for existing player / new players to gain market share
Yarn consumption (430,000 MT / Rs 7,500 Cr, FY12) has grown at 13% CAGR in
last 4 years. Expected to grow moderately at 8% CAGR
Fabric production (860 Million Meters / ` 10,000 Cr, FY12) has grown at 11%
CAGR in last 4 years. Expected to grow moderately at 9% CAGR
PV Apparel sales (Rs 22,000 Cr, FY12) have grown at 15% CAGR in last 4 years.
Expected to grow at 12% CAGR - ~8% market share in domestic OTC

Monitor costs, improvise prepare and seek approval for budgets to meet the expenses.
2. Customer Orientation
Conducting Internal and External Customer Satisfaction Surveys. Institutionalizing Internal
Customer Satisfaction Index (ICSI) and External Customer Satisfaction Index (ECSI), Social
Satisfaction Index, People Satisfaction Index, Supplier Satisfaction Index.
Providing training / counseling to employees to make them aware of their triple role as
Customer, Processor and Supplier. .
Establish and review agreement between internal supplier and customers on Product /
Service requirements, so that requisite performance is met. Seek Management Approval;
provide resources and necessary support to carry out Internal Customer Satisfaction
Survey. Interpret findings. Formulate Service Level Agreements.
Partnering in reviewing and sharpening of the complete gamut of the Satisfaction Surveys.
3. Maturity Level in Internal and External Awards:
Preparation of Internal & External Awards Application for enhancement of Employee Morale /
Motivation, Company Image and structured development of all Business Processes in all the
Units and Product Groups.
Ensuring Participation and Performance of Teams in several forums.
Gearing up the organization to challenge the Chairman’s Aditya Birla Excellence (WCM)
Awards of highest Maturity Level and other National (IMC RBNQA) and International (CII
Exim Bank) Awards.
Facilitating in final interpretation and presentation of the compiled and required data /
information towards preparation of Application Document for National Quality Awards
like IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA), CII Awards, Aditya Birla
Awards and any other Awards as decided by the Management.
Provide the Key Focused Area Leaders with related consulting whenever they prepare their
team submission documents
Utilize IT in all documentation for ease of accessibility by all users.
4. Capability Building and Employee Engagement
Training on Analytical Problem Solving Tools like 7 QC Tools, Root Cause Analysis etc.
Training on Diagnostic Problem Solving Tools like PM Analysis, Six Sigma - Green Belt,
Black Belt, ensuring identification, review and final presentations on Projects.
Promoting and Facilitation of Breakthrough Projects and aiming towards Six Sigma
Institutionalizing usage of Tools like Reliability Centered Maintenance, Value Engineering,
Quality Function Deployment, Analysis of Variance etc.
Increasing awareness, understanding and ensuring a path for horizontal and vertical
replication through Team Competitions and Inter unit “Kaizen Mela” on Best Practices to
bring synergy.
Scheme formulation and review for effective motivation of employees to monitor and sustain
superior performance.
Organizing events to recognize and reward Best Performing Teams / Individuals. Keep a
strict vigil to ensure cost effectiveness.
5. Institutionalization of the norms of Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001: 2000,
ISO 14001: 2004 & OHSAS 18001: 2007, ISO 50001) and SA 8000
Ensuring compliance to the standard norms and addressing the non conformities identified
from Audits.
Working upon the Areas of Improvement identified during Audits.
