*Math –We will continue our unit on measurement this week.
We are learning about metric and customary units of
measurement and converting measurement. We will be doing a
lot of Khan Academy videos and assignments. If you have your
Math book, you can also use it to help you if needed. The
standards for this unit are 4.MD.1 & 4.MD.2.
* Reading – Students will be reading an Article a Day and
writing about it. It should only take about 10-15 minutes. They
will also have their ReadWorks passage. We will begin our new
read aloud, A Long Walk to Water. I will be reading 2 chapters
on our Zoom meetings. Please try to attend so you can take
notes. If you can’t attend the Zoom, I will post the recording in
Edmodo. I cannot post it on my blog since I am reading someone
else’s book.
* Writing/ELA – We will continue working on Relative
Pronouns this week. Students will also have the week to
complete one writing prompt.
* Science– We will continue our unit on Water and Weather.
Our focus this week will be on the water cycle. Students will
have a Freckle assignment on the Water Cycle, a Water Cycle
Quiz and a poster activity to do this week.
I hope you found the 4 day week to be helpful with catching
up on missed work. I can sure tell based on the few
assignments that are not complete by a few students that
today was helpful. I will continue to email parents on
Thursday nights so you are aware of what assignments I am
missing. Your child can use Friday to catch up or even to do
Target assignments if needed.
The county is working on something as far as getting
supplies. I will continue to update you as I hear more.
Many students are not checking Edmodo regularly. I know
this is one more place they have to look, but it is helpful
because I can leave them messages in there. It is the one
way I can get in touch with them and ask about missing
assignments.

You can check the STEM, PE, Art, and Music
blog for some great activities they have
(maybe on the day we would have that
special).
Target students make sure you are
checking your Target teacher’s blog.
Monday Reading/ELA/Writing & Vocab
assignments are optional for you. I would
like for you to try to still do the Math and
Science activities.
You may also do the FlipGrid Challenge
each day or any of the extra sites in Clever.
• Zoom sessions will be on Monday, Wednesday, and optional
check in on Fridays from 10-10:30
• I will be available through email, Class Dojo, or Edmodo to
answer questions.
• I am messaging students through Edmodo. Please have
them check this regularly.

• Wednesday – Earth Day (Dress like something to
do with Earth Day)
• Thursday – Mismatch day
• Friday – 70’s Day
