1. On the conservation of mass in chemical reaction experiment, is there a chemical event?

Mention if any!
Answer : On the conservation of mass in chemical reaction experiment, there is a chemical
event, that is after reaction is produced precipitate. Reaction between NaOH and
CuSO4 produce dark blue precipitate (CuOH), and reaction between KI and
Pb(NO3)2 produce yellow precipitate (PbI2.
Mass after and before reaction almost same only different on it’s significant
figure, and it can be said there is no change of the mass before and after reaction.

2. From Graph 1. Show how the relationship between reacting copper mass and sulfur
mass?
Answer : The graphic show that the more sulfur, the copper decreasing and also increasing.
Based on the theory, length of remained copeer decrese but in tihs reaction
increase this occurs due to innacurate measurement of the amount of sulfur.

3. From Graph 2.
a. Show the composition of the volume of reagent how much the highest precipitate
yield?
Answer : The composition of Pb(NO3)2 and KI that produces highest precipitate is 3 mL
Pb(NO3)2 and 7 mL KI.

b. Calculate the number of mole Pb(NO 3)2 and the number of mole KI contained in the
volume of the solution which gives the highest precipitate?
Answer : Reaction between 3 mL Pb(NO3)2 solution 0,1M and 7 mL KI solution 0,1M
Mol of Pb(NO3)2 = M × v = 0,1 × 3 = 0,3 mmol = 0,003 mol
Mol of KI = M × v = 0,1 × 7 = 0,7 mmol = 0,007 mol

2KI(aq) + Pb(NO3)2(aq) 2KNO3(aq) + PbI2(s)

At first :0,0007 0,0003 - -
Reaction :0,0006 0.0003 0,0006 0,0003
Final :0,0001 - 0,0006 0,0003
Mole ratio = KI : Pb(NO3)2 = 0,006 : 0,003 = 2 : 1
The number of mole Pb(NO3)2 and the number of mole KI is 0,006 mole and
0,003 mole. This is the highest number of mole than the other.

c. The number of moles Pb(NO3)2 reacted as being an easy and round number. What is
the comparison?
Answer : The comparison is Pb(NO3)2 : KI = 2 : 1

4. From Graph 3.
a. What is the volume of mixtures NaOH and H2SO4 showing the highest price ∆T?
Answer : on the 15 mL NaOH and 15 mL H2SO4 also 25 mL NaOH and 5 mL H2SO4
showing the highest price ∆T, that is 1oC.
b. Calculate the number of moles NaOH and H2SO4 in the volume that yields the highest
∆T.
Answer : Reaction between 15 mL NaOH solution 0,2M and 15 mL H2SO4 solution 0,2M
Mol of NaOH = M × v = 0,2 × 15 = 3 mmol = 0,003 mol
Mol of H2SO4 = M × v = 0,1 × 15 = 3 mmol = 0,003 mol

2NaOH(aq) + H2SO4(aq) Na2SO4(aq) + 2H2O(s)

At first :0,003 0,003 - -
Reaction :0,003 0,0015 0,0015 0,003
Final : - 0,0015 0,0015 0,003
Mole ratio = NaOH : H2SO4 = 0,003 : 0,0015 = 2 : 1

Reaction between 25 mL NaOH solution 0,2M and 5 mL H2SO4 solution 0,2M

Mol of NaOH = M × v = 0,2 × 25 = 5 mmol = 0,005 mol
Mol of H2SO4 = M × v = 0,1 × 5 = 0,5 mmol = 0,0005 mol
2NaOH(aq) + H2SO4(aq) Na2SO4(aq) + 2H2O(s)
At first :0,005 0,0005 - -
Reaction :0,001 0,0005 0,0005 0,001
Final :0,004 - 0,0005 0,001
Mole ratio = NaOH : H2SO4 = 0,001 : 0,0005 = 2 : 1

c. The number of moles Pb(NO3)2 reacted as being an easy and round number. What is
the comparison?
Answer : The comparison is NaOH : H2SO4 = 2 : 1
