1) Teachers can show various figures with
some portions shaded. The children are
asked to identify the fractions for the
portions that are shaded or not shaded.

Period 4
NUMERATOR AND DENOMINATOR OF A
FRACTION
1) Show the class four colour pencils- three red
and one blue. Tell them that ¾ of the pencils
are red. Ask them what fraction is blue.
2) Repeat with several other examples using
objects on the classroom. Connect the
demonstrated objects with the corresponding
fraction on the blackboard.
3) Various examples to be given to make the
concept clear.
