‘THE LIGHT AND SOUND MUSEUM’

: A Reflection Paper
The Light and Sound Museum, as the name suggests, is a museum that uses full visual
and sound effects and also exhibits life-size wax dolls. It mainly showcases the major historical
events occurred in the Philippines – from precolonial times up to the death of national hero, Dr.
Jose Rizal. The museum is also located at Sta. Lucia St., Intramuros, Manila.

Now, going to what I have experienced upon going to the Light and Sound Museum. At
first, I thought that the museum will be like any other museums that I have visited before. That
there will be paintings, sculptures, texts, folk lore and many more things that portrays about
historical events. But, as the trip went on, I realized that this museum is unique. The first word
that will pop-up in your mind is really, “WOW!” The colors used, the wax dolls, the visuals and
the sounds are very realistic. That’s why its really a trip to the past happenings here in the
Philippines. I was very amazed and I really appreciated the effort and the time that they have
used to build such thing. Another thing is, the visuals, sounds, and props, made me more
knowledgeable about the events happened in our history. I can now tell the difference between
the information that you can read in the book and on how you will understand it to the
information that you can gather upon seeing and hearing things from actual speakers and actual
scenes that really happened a long time ago.

The Light and Sound Museum is an experience that every student must have in their
lives. For not they can only enjoy the view, but for they can be able to tell how our history
happened more colorful and enjoying and on how it shaped our present and how will it affect our
future.
