1. The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Iloilo, in cooperation with Division Science Club
and Coordinators Association ( DISCCAA) announces the conduct of the Division Scilympics for School Year
2014-2015 for the following schedules.

Mega Quiz September 25, 2014 Maasin Municipal Gym, Maasin, Iloilo
Create, Show and Tell September 25, 2014 Maasin Municipal Gym, Maasin, Iloilo
Science Investigatory Project (SIP) September 26-27, 2014 Maasin Municipal Gym, Maasin, Iloilo

2. These activities aim to make science principles alive, meaningful, relevant to the learners and feel the rural
ambience and to select the most creative/ innovative/best Science Investigatory Project (SIPs)/ Researchers who
will represent the Division to the Regional Scilympics.

3. Official participants to the 2014 Division Scilympics are the Secondary School Principals/,Science
Coordinators, Coaches in the different contest categories. Division contestants are the First Place Winners of the
school in the Mega Quiz, Create, Show and Tell while SIP participants are the top 5 of the school ( Cluster 1 and
Cluster II ) winners in the different SIP categories which will undergo evaluation of the Division Scientific Review
Committee (SRC) to determine the division qualifiers. Top three Division winners in the different SIP categories
will represent the Division of Iloilo to the Regional SIP. ALL SSC Division created secondary schools are required
to participate.

4. A registration of Eight Hundred Pesos ( P800.00 ) shall be charged to coaches and contestants in SIP to
cover 3 snacks, 2 lunch , while Five Hundred Pesos (P500.00) will be charged for Mega Quiz, and Create, Show
and Tell, to cover expenses for food ( 1 snacks, and 1 lunch) , contest materials, certificates, medals, cash awards,
honoraria of the members of the Division SRCs and Board of Judges (BOJs). Travel expenses, per diem, and
registration fee are chargeable against ESEP Support Fund/Science Fund/PTA/ local funds subject to the usual
accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

5. The deadline of the submission of the School’s participant, SIP entries and registration (50%) to
Division of Iloilo (4th Floor) will be on September 10, 2014. NO WALK IN will be allowed.

6. Enclosed is the Scilympics Guidelines and mechanics.

the coaches/advisers.
