Price Increase notification letter

Schneider Electric, Southern Africa

From: Mogashni Naidu

To: All Schneider Electric Customers

Date: 9th April, 2020

Subject: Price Increase, April 20th, 2020:

Dear Valued partner

We at Schneider Electric truly hope that you, your colleagues, your friends and families are all
safe during this unprecedented period in our lives.
We are in the midst of a period of great economic shocks, both nationally and globally, and as
a company that values the long-term wellbeing of our employees and our customers, we are
having to make some crucial decisions.
Rest assured that the Schneider Electric team are still available, working from home but still
contactable to provide technical and commercial assistance to you and your customers. Our
on-line ordering and support tool MySE, is also fully operational should you wish to place new
orders or to check the status of orders already placed. Our Global Supply Chain is working
tirelessly to ensure that we are sourcing your stock requirements from around the world and
are using many alternative sources and transport methods to keep our inventory at the
required level.
Some of the shocks that we have to contend with are the sudden and drastic devaluation of
the Rand, the dramatic increase in transport costs and the scarcity of supply of components
and finished goods that we need in order to satisfy the demand of our end users via you, our
trusted channel partners.
Unfortunately, to counter the effects of at least some of these cost impacts we will have to
increase our list prices by 17% from the 20th April 2020. This has not been an easy decision
to make.
To be able to ensure that there is enough inventory to satisfy the broad demands of the
market in Southern Africa we will be limiting orders to a maximum of one month’s average
order value. These orders will be invoiced immediately, delivered as soon as is practically
possible and payments will be as per the normal trading terms and conditions.
