A Meaningless talk about Meaning

“We keep talking about meaning of life in a theoretical way which is much
easier than the hardships in real life, which makes it paradoxically
meaningless”

Being born in a culture that has an already embedded moral values, that
teaches also that our life shall continue in a certain line and defines that line.

Observing nature as our bodies already designed for the need of survival and
we can achieve our DNA survival by mating, hence we can safely say that a
huge part of meaning is deeply inside us and was predetermined
physiologically by our body design.

Observing animals that have lesser to almost no intelligence which are driven
by their instinct, fight for mating to preserve their DNA, however if we assume
that these specific animals whole existence is for a another purpose and his
mating is just to insure the continuity of his service which can be for us. For
example chicken, so it is easier when we go down in the hierarchy to find the
meaning of things, but it gets harder and harder when we go above in the
hierarchy to find meaning (with more intelligence or power), let’s assume for
an extreme situation to explain how tough it can get is when we ask the
meaning of God’s existence compared to chicken existence.

The meaning can be in protecting one’s child’s life, or even his loved ones
without having children, which means that there is a social bond that is
stronger than the desire of preserving one’s DNA, of course before giving birth
to a child and having a similar social bond with him.

The meaning can be found in protecting other person in need for help,
however it may not apply to everyone as some people can only sacrifice for
the very closely related people, but we can still see the sacrifice for a
complete stranger in need for help, such as protecting a woman under a thief
attack or willingly to throw one’s life in certain doom for protecting his
homeland.

Such sacrifices mean that our minds had willingly prevailed and controlled our
bodies and neglected our primal instinct for survival to achieve a certain goal
set by culture, and this culture cannot by any means affect out behavior to
that degree unless there is an intelligent mind to analyze and contemplate it.

Altruism can be found with animals with higher intelligence such as dolphins
and crows, it means that there a relation between intelligence and altruism.

There is a commonality, the meaning of humans existence can be found in

many things but it can be reduced to a basic ones that is shared with animals
(just mating and loving our children), the more intelligence there is, the more
we can see a different direction in behavior, such as dying defending the idea
of equality or to prove something.

I think we can test this idea

What if we put this idea under a test, one might say that this is just not true,
but I think that the idea of meaning if it is really true as a fact, objectively
across the multiverses and inner lives including atheists, it can survive the
most extreme situations, such as being able to create life.

I think that it won’t make a big difference for an atheist to discover that he
can create life, he will think that this new life is probably another phenomena
that came to reality as a result of biological complexity but with a difference
that we do not know how we are made, for him life and consciousness is just
an overestimated unexplained phenomena by today’s science, so answering
what is the meaning and why do we exist can be answered in many ways by
an atheist as he chooses the meaning, such as living without hurting anyone
do what the work that he loves to contribute to the society, of course sharing
the common meaning with other human believers about mating and
preserving human race, because as I said, it is just in our body design.

Surprisingly despite the commonality in the nature between humans, due to

intelligence, the purpose of any individual can differ between two persons
according to their belief systems, but what can a believer in God make of it if
he found that we can create life, does it mean that the whole thing about us is
not so special after all?
And if so, does it trivialize or disproof in any way the whole belief system?
Probably a little sci fi story can explain
In the story of rick and Morty, Rick was so intelligent to a degree that made
him create life in a car battery, and his purpose for creating them is to create
electricity to run his car battery.

Can a human believer still find meaning?

From this view for the sake of the argument, without prejudice to any part,
theological debate is not our topic here, but considering the fact that God
exist and the writings of religion is true, since it was not mentioned in religions
that humans are the only intelligent species here, so we can find an
explanation for the existence of other intelligent life, but what about creating
it, there will always be the debate that the new creatures created are
intelligent with sense of self, but not life like original humans, they simply do
not have a soul. Apart from the endless debates about how soulless they are
and how they should or should not be treated as humans, I see that the
problem is not with us now, it is with them, what will they think when they find
that their creators are fighting on their nature.

(Our creator is evidently true but clearly not a GOD)

It is almost impossible for them to see us, because of their tiny nature, for
them we are more outside the boundary of the universe and even the
multiverse, but it is almost, not totally impossible.

There will be big debates whether we should inform these beings about us or
no. perhaps this will happen after the doing this will be relatively easy to
many scientists, but what is the problem of informing them about us?

Is it because they might rebel and harm us? We do not face with them the
same problem with Artificial intelligence that discovered its superiority over its
creator, because they are very tiny and futile.

IS it possible after long enough time, they might have the means to give us a
proper fight? I think we can answer this question after years from now and this
is why there will be debates, because we will be intimidated by how an
intelligent being can achieve with enough time.
We can worry about them when they know that the whole meaning for them is
just to run a battery, but what is claimed as soulless beings can be treated as
biological machines, however these biological machines have sense of self
and started asking fundamental questions, can they still find their life
meaningful just to run a cosmic car battery?

It is a damn depressing idea to think about even for imaginary beings, can
they find the meaning in preserving their species, just to survive?

There are more questions to be asked than answers, but why not when we
take the whole meaning problem to a new level, it may be a sci fi story, but it
implies serious notions regarding the whole meaning idea, such as finding the
meaning even under the darkest circumstances may be not always the truth,
and our bodies physiologically are evolved to survive psychologically in the
face of fundamental questions asked by our always wandering brains, it can
be as if the body has its own self defense system against itself.

Then it is not a sci fi story, it is a sad story and for some, a horror story.

Speaking of Horror stories there is one that may relate to this topic

We are generally not by nature very efficient in resisting this feelings of

meaningless in normal life conditions, and I am not trivializing how depressing
a boring life can affect a person mood and making him questions meaning,
but I think that there are situations that are really putting the meaning
problem to its limits, such as Auschwitz during the world war II, where Nazis
kept the Jews as prisoners. There was one prisoner who could as much as he
could look at this cruelty as objective as possible, however as he stated,
sometimes he cannot fully separate his subjective experience. This man and
his colleagues do not know when someone will take them to be burned alive
or just get shot in the head in a mass killing, they do not know if they met an
officer in a bad mood who just felt like killing and kill anyone for the smallest
thing, they did not know where their families are and whether they are alive or
no, life for them was just meaningless anymore. Despite all this, Viktor Frankl
could find meaning in hope of meeting his loved ones, in helping others where
everyone should run for his life, for sharing, for valuing the small things. He
said that man can still find meaning in the darkest times where you may think
there is no hope, you can still find meaning.

And I really hope it is not just a psychological trick.
