Resumen
Abstract
Polyurethane is a polymer that is affected in some local industrial processes such as the
manufacture of the country's currency. In the case of the manufacture of the coin, the
processes to which the material is subjected for the production of the coin, the washing and
drying process is essential, which consists of entering the blanket into a machine that is
mainly made up of a container (Washing tank) that rotates at high revolutions per minute
together with satellite spheres and, in turn, chemical agents are added to remove all kinds
of impurities; This container, being subjected to such high processes and chemical attacks,
undergoes corrosion wear and tear as it is made of a polymeric material such as
polyurethane. In this case, the impact of this polyurethane material on other chemical
agents and external conditions is disclosed, which in turn produces corrosion. The possible
solution that prevents premature corrosion suffered by these polymers is analyzed.
