To tell the readers: "The Martian," Ridley
Scott's film about an astronaut surviving on a
desolate planet, is at heart a shipwreck story,
one that just happens to take the form of a
science fiction adventure. But although the
outline offers no surprises, the details and the
tone feel new.
It tells us about type of the film, the involved
person and the context of this film.
this film is about a man, Matt Damon's Mark
Watney, who summons all of his ingenuity and
courage to endure a seemingly impossible
situation, then must deal with loneliness on top of
it all.
The evaluation
What makes the book and movie so uniquely
interesting is how the story meets that literary
challenge. In fact, there’s an extremely
compelling relationship at the heart of the
story: the one between Watney and survival. 
Summary
It’s the story of Mark Watney, abandoned on
Mars after his crew members mistakenly
conclude that he died during a violent storm
that forced them to cancel their exploratory
mission and leave the planet (this much is in
the trailer; I’m no spoiler). It has thus been
called “Robinson Crusoe on Mars,
Last Opinion
This is a wonderful film, but that doesn't
mean you are going to like it.
Watney and survival
This is a wonderful film
I cannot tell you what it is like to see this film
if you don't know or love the book.
But I hope it may plant a seed on your heart to
discover a great world of fantasy, beauty and
 humanity.
The first paragraph is used Present Simple to
introduce the topic, and the second is used Past
Simple because it tells us about the chronology
of the film, and the two last paragraph use
present simple to state the opinion.

Summary
News reports are found in newspapers and their purpose is to inform readers of what is
happening in the world around them. The social function of news report is to inform the target
readers, listeners, and viewers about events which are considered important and relevant to
them by summarizing the event by mentioning only the important points in first paragraph and
tells the events in details by providing the details of the important points, as stated by the
sources such as authority, source person, witness. In order to have a good news report, we
should use telegraphic information about story captured in headline, direct and indirect
sentences to report the events according to witness(es) and the source person and use past
tenses. Using prepositional phrases to state the circumstances briefly will help the readers
understand the news. Using clause will make our sentence in news report will be more
attractive.

As a text, the caption is used to explain or elaborate on published photograph, by

describing the photograph, giving context, or relating it to the article. This can make the
article more interesting to read. A good caption must be regarded by the process of the event
briefly, the participants in the process and to make it easy understood we should put the
circumstances of the process: mostly of place and time, providing context to the picture by
using complete sentences and use of Simple Present Tense in the main sentence, Simple Past
Tense in the following sentences.
Advertisement is a short interesting functional text. The Social Function of this text is
to persuade listeners or readers to buy or to use the product or services being advertised or to
convince products, services, or events to the public. A good ad should be clear in a purpose
which built the advertisement, product names and the target readers. Besides, Coinage will
make ad more interesting because coined words make lively and eye-catching. Comparative
and Superlative Adjective will also make ad more convincing, while compound word will
gives the readers a sense of closeness. To have a good command so the reader will be
interested, we have to use Imperative Sentence and Disjunctive Clause.
The way to express our opinion of film, novel, and other product is to review it.
Review is an appreciation or an evaluation of a publication, such as a movie, book, novel, etc.
which contains the orientation/introduction paragraph as its background to tell the products.
Concluding statement, opinion, recommendation should be the next paragraph which called
Evaluation by telling the chronology or characteristic of the product, film, music, or novel. To
state our opinion, it must be at the last paragraph because it could be the conclusion for our
opinion of the product, film, movie, novel or music.
