SUBJECT: Checking the correct setting for the Circle to Circle Drive Pinion
on H and M Series Motor Graders
MODEL: 16H, 16M
APPLICABLE To : All 16H (6ZJ, ATS) and 16M (B9H)
Introduction
It has been identified that the current procedure to check for the correct adjustment
between the circle drive pinion and circle on 16H and 16M Motor Graders. This instruction
shows how to use the fabricated tooling to check the adjustment to identify if adjustment
is required. If adjustment is made excessive wear on the circle segments and or failure to
the circle drive pinion shaft maybe experienced.

Telah teridentifikasi bahwa prosedur yang ada untuk pengecekan adjustment yang benar
antara circle drive pinion dan circle pada 16H and 16M Motor Graders. Instruksi ini
memperlihatkan bagaimana cara menggunakan fabricated tooling untuk me-cek
adjustment untuk menidentifikasi apakah adjustment diperlukan. Jika adjustment telah
dilakukan keausan yang cepat pada circle segments dan atau kerusakan pada circle drive
pinion shaft sangat mungkin terjadi.

Position Blade of at 90 degrees to the draw

bar and lower to the ground

Position the 60 mm fabricated tooling

between the flange of the circle drive pinion
and the machined surface of the circle

If the tooling cannot be installed into position

the adjustment is to far back

Position the 64 mm fabricated tooling

If the tooling can be installed adjustment is to

far forward

A correct adjustment is when the 60 mm

tooling can be installed and has a small gap
but the 64 mm tooling cannot be installed

Note* If the adjustment is either to far back or to far

forward adjustment of the Circle to Circle Drive Pinion
needs to be carried
