south of Cologne,
Schloss Augustusburg is
the 18th-century palace
of the Archbishop of
Cologne.
Aachen is the
westernmost city in
Germany, located near
the borders with
Belgium and the
Netherlands, 60 km
south-west of Cologne.
The Ruhr region, is the largest
urban area in Germany.
Whereas in the last century it
was mining and the steel
industry that characterized the
people and landscape in the

Phantasialand is a
theme park in Brühl that
attracts approximately 2
million visitors annually.
Among the park's thrill

launch coaster).
Bonn is one of
Germany's oldest cities
and was the capital of
West Germany. It is
located 30km south of
Cologne on the shore of
the Rhine river.
Nationalpark Eifel is
one of 16 national parks
in Germany. Around 240
km of paths are open to
visitors. The park offers
regular, free guided
tours with a trained
ranger.
