2.2.2 Introduction:
A ramjet (Stato-Re acteur) is another type of athodyd air breathing jet engine that was first proposed by
Rene Lorin in 1913.
There is no rotary part to compress the air, then how does it compress ? It uses the forward motion of
engine to compress the incoming air
From the Figures 3 and 4 and the drawn illustration, Ramjet engine maybe either of the subsonic or
supersonic type. In either cases, the compression of the air is the function of the operational Mach number.
