Gateway Online Class

H E L LO !

Session Three 9th April

Hello again to the Gateway Gang!

In this document I have a written instructions to accompany the video I made for this
weeks class. I used household items for all projects so hopefully you will have some/all of
the materials at hand!

There are three options of tasks to complete this week. Once you have experimented
with each task, I would like you to try and combine the projects!

I hope you are all keeping well... I have missed you!

t-towel teddy
Materials needed : T-towel, rubber bands.

Step 1 -  Gather materials.

Step 2 -  Roll each side to meet at the center point.
Step 3 -  Twist and fold the towel so the rolls are facing up. The top slightly shorter than the bottom.
Step 4 -  Place the 'arms' of the teddy bear by its side.

Step 5 -  Place an elastic band at the top of the bears arms.

Step 6 -  Gather material at the side of his face and place a second elastic band around it to form an ear.
Step 7 -  Repeat step six on the other side.

Step 8 -  Adust bear, ie straightening his legs.

Step 9 -  If you have a bow, tie it around his neck. You could even try making him a top hat out of tin foil!
stop motion
Materials needed : camera/camera phone, teddy bear, pen, paper, scissors.

Explanation : Stop motion is an animated filmmaking technique in which objects are moved in small increments
between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to move themselves.

Step 1 -  Think of a story for your stop motion.

Step 2 - Gather your materials and props.
Step 3 - Draw your face/ thoughts/ conversations.

Step 4 - Take a photo per scene of your stop motion.

Step 5- If you have access to a printer , you can print these images and make a flip book like last week!

Step 5- If you have access to a computer/ are technically inclined.

You can make a gif/movie online.

1 - enter https://ezgif.com into your search bar

2 - follow instructions upload images
3 - download movie/gif
sight specific artwork
Materials needed : ANYTHING YOU WANT!

Explanation : Site-specific artwork is created to exist in a certain place. Typically, the artist takes the location into
account while planning and creating the artwork.

I want you choose a spot in your house and create your own sight specific art work.

Step 1 - Sit and think. Question the spot you have chosen, or think to choose. Question why? Plan, and play.

THIS IS THE PROJECT.

You can record it if you want, but you do not have to. You can record by by writing a few sentences about it, or by taking a
video/photo.

I hope you enjoy this week's tasks, I challenge you to combine

some of the projects we have done so far... For example you can
incorporate the bubble painting from last week into your sight
specific work, remember you can make the bubble mixture
without paint!
THANK YOU!
Well Done!!
