and Barangay Bayalse.” And answer the following questions:
1. What are the community problems of Barangay Bayalse? Mainly, Barangay Bayalse faced a problem with regards to the effects of global warming and climate change to their community. It had affected their community in different aspects. Barangay Bayalse is currently experiencing excessive heat and unpredictable weather wherein it affected the people living in the community and their everyday living. The people of the Barangay experienced floods, landslides, and drought. Moreover, they also experienced economic, and psychological effects due to the global warming and climate change. 2. How would you address those identified problems? What programs and projects do you recommend? Expound your answer. In my own opinion, people in the Barangay should be informed about the main root of the problem that they are facing, so that they would be aware of the possible danger that they might face if the problem gets bigger. Moreover, after being informed about it, they should listen to the authority’s protocol for things to get easier, they should participate whenever there is a procedure given by the authorities in the Barangay. In this action, the psychological effects that the people are facing would be lessen. Then, when everything is settled (when people of the barangay are duly informed on the situation) that’s when the problems regarding floods, landslides, and drought should be taken into action by the means of relocation of the people in the area and the like. When it comes to economic effects, an alternative for their livelihood should be looked after by the authorities and make sure that they would provide something for the families affected by the disaster that is happening in the place. 3. How would the SDGs such as Good health and well-being, Quality Education and Gender Equality help solve the community problems of Barangay Bayalse? Due to the effects of climate change and global warning and with the risk of danger to the health of the people in the community, there must be an available clinic or any basic health assessment for the people within the affected areas. It must accessible and must be funded by the government. For quality education, it must be available or given to the people in Barangay Bayalse. It must still be given to the people of that community despite the calamity that they are experiencing because it could help them to be aware of the situation and what is the proper thing to do whenever there is a flood, landslide or drought. Gender equality is as important as the other SDG. It would impose women empowerment to the residents of the community, and it would help their psychological means to be stronger. Moreover, gender equality would help everyone in their community to have jobs regardless of their gender since the norms regarding belittling women would be broken and they would be more opportunity to their employment that would help the means of their living.
