HIGH PRESSURE SUPPLY SYSTEM
Reducer-Changeover and Back-up systems

Pressure reduction and changeover system for medical gas supply network from cylinders
or bundles. Pressure reduction from 200 bar to 8.5 bar.

High degree of safety

Reduced risk of adiabatic compression.
Does not contain substances likely to give off toxic gases in case of fire.
Optional lead-sealable protection cover.

Composition
The REDUCER-CHANGEOVER sub-assembly consists of the following components:
• 2 filtering purge valves,
• 2 HP reducers with built-in safety valves,
• 1 automatic changeover with pressure gauge,
• 1 MP reducer,
• 1 non-return valve.

BACK-UP sub-assembly consists of the following components:

Reducer-Changeover 80 m3/h • 1 filtering purge valve,
• 1 HP reducer with pressure gauge,
• 1 MP pressure gauge,
PAT E N T • 1 MP reducer,
ALMS • 1 pressure gauge for indicating output pressure,
• 1 non-return valve,
• 1 quarter turn sectional valve.
Performance
• Automatic changeover The filtering purge valve protects the system against impurities with the help
without manual resetting. of a sinterbronze filter. The valve is used to bleed the manifold before changing
• Flow rate up to 80 m3/h. cylinders. It is manually operated by means of a handwheel.

The HP pressure reducer enables gas pressure reduction from 200 bar
to 14 bar. The reducer is equipped with a piston specially designed for gas supply
to HP Centrals and fully complies with 10524-2 norms thanks to its ALMS patented
valve.

The automatic changeover system enables alternating gas supply from

two manifolds. The pneumatic changeover system is fully automatic and functions
on the basis of a pressure difference.

The MP reducer brings down gas pressure from 14 bar to the network pressure
level (preset at 8.5 bar at the Reducer-Changeover system and at 7 bar
at the Back-up system). The MP reducer uses a piston with a simplified design
that provides stable pressure level for the entire gas flow range.

Maintenance
HP reducer cartridge and MP reducer module may be changed every 5 years.

Manifold

HP Valve boxes constitute the HP Supply System manifolds with one Valve box
for 1 - 2 cylinders.

HP Valve box
High degree of safety
HP Valve boxes help reduce gas flow in case of a break in the cylinder-manifold
link. It thereby guarantees a high level of safety during cylinder change.
The valve boxes are not completely gastight. This is done to ensure cylinder
balancing and leak detection by the alarm system.
Does not contain substances likely to give off toxic gases in case of fire.

TERMINAL UNITS
DIN motor Air terminal unit

The DIN motor Air terminal unit is used for a pneumatic gas supply to surgical apparatuses.
A rapid coupling is used for the wall connection. The compressed Air connector consists
of a concentric ring for fresh gas supply and another ring for used gas evacuation.

High degree of safety

This Air instrument terminal unit with backflow is started up when
the quick connector is plugged.
When the quick connector is disconnected, gas flow is interrupted then
the surgical engine is stopped.

Features
Compressed gas flow rate: 500 l/min maximum.
Evacuated gas flow rate: 500 l/min maximum.
Operating pressure: 8-10 bar.
Dimensions: Front panel: 160 x 160 mm;
Connector built-in to the wall: 150 x 150 x 60 mm;
Levelling plastic: 20 mm.

32
AGSS terminal unit

Operation rooms are polluted with anaesthetic gases in case of both partially-open
and fully closed anaesthesia delivery systems.
This pollution may be prevented by installing a Anaesthetic Gas Scavenging System.

Operation
The AGSS terminal unit creates a depression by the venturi effect by means
of an Air network connector. The standard flow rate is around 45 - 50 l/min but
may be adjusted by the user. A green visual signal lights up when the depression
is activated.
The aspirated gas is evacuated through a special channel.

High degree of safety

When the tip is disconnected, suction automatically stops and the visual alarm
screen becomes blank again.
A valve closes at the same time to prevent the aspirated gas from returning
to the room.

Features
Surface AGSS terminal unit
Suction rate: 45-50 l/min.
Air consumption: 40 - 60 l/min.
Connections: Air : 6 x 8 mm copper tube;
Aspirated gas: 13 x 15 mm copper tube;
