Exam Rules

The exam is composed by two sections:

- Exercise (back of this sheet)

- Theory (immediately after the Exercise Section)

During the Exercise section, you can use all you need (books, slides, formulas, etc…) with the
exception of colleagues, professor, Internet resources, send/receive SMS/MMS, call centers,
etc…

During the Theory section, you just need a blank sheet and a pencil (ALL your stuff must be far
away from your seat).

You can leave the exam at any time, but the “FAIL” result will be registered.

The two sections contribute to the final score with same weight: the average score of the two
sections will be added with the score from weekly Lab reports. The resulting score can be
directly registered or the student can add also an optional oral section (with positive or negative
contribution to the final score).

First section: exercises (available time: 45 minutes)

Design a suitable OA-based circuit with the following I/O characteristic using the minimum

Second section: theory (available time: 20 minutes)

1. Line termination techniques:

- definition of termination
- types of terminations
- termination techniques for low-power static dissipation

2. VHDL
- 8 bit counter with synchronous CLEAR

3. CMRR:
- definition of CMRR
- define CMRR expression from OA characteristics

4. Slew-Rate:
- definition of SR
- measurement units of SR
- evidence of SR effects in OA operation (output signal affected by SR for example)
