Directions for Running the Consolidation Test

Test Set-Up
Click on the “Information” Tab and fill in any relevant data in the “Specimen Information” section
Click on the “Initial Specimen Parameters” section and click on the white rows to fill in the information on the yellow rows.

There is nothing you need to fill in on the “Final Specimen Parameters” section.
Click on the “Setup” tab (left side)

Click on the blue letters that say “Click here to select load sequence values”

A box will pop up that prompts you to save the file. Choose a file name, Example “Section 1 Group 1” and save it in the Humboldt folder on the
Desktop.
Next, a box will pop up giving you a choice of Load Sequences.

Choose ParamDef3, which should display a load sequence of “0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 8.0, 2.0, 0.5, 0.125” when you hover the mouse.
SIDE NOTE:

To setup a load sequence from scratch, click on this icon at the top of your screen.

Then, add a new sequence.

Then fill in the load sequence you desire and press DONE.
You will then see the load sequence load into the program:
Next, move to the “Consolidation Channels” Tab. Choose “Device 1- Connected” if you are working with consolidation test instruments 1, 2, 3,
or 4. This refers to the data logger that the instrument is connected to. Device 2 is for setups 5- 8.

Choose “Input 1” if you are setting up the test for consolidation test set-up 1 (farthest left on the table). Input 2 is for the second instrument,
and so on.
Next, reverse the channel if the dial indicator is reading negative. (most are!)

Next, turn “Load Control at Target” setting to NO (this means we have a manual instrument, not automatic)
Next, move to the “Logging Type” tab. Click on the blue line that says “Click here to create/edit logging time table”
Click on the button that says, “Load Time Table Defaults.” Edit the values so they say:
Move to the “Stop Conditions” tab and change the first setting (Stop condition) to NONE.
When you are ready to run the test, press “Run Test”

Save as “Excel Macro Enabled Workbook”


Wait for points to download when you open a test
When you’re ready to stop the test (in order to put on the next load), press “Stop Test”

Then, wait for the points to verify (program scrolls through all the points to double check the values were downloaded correctly.)
Click on the “Set Up” Tab on the left side of the screen, then press “Run Test”
