FOR SCONDARY GRADES (VI- VIII)

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. This Scheme of Studies will be implemented in all Elementary Schools (Grade VI- VIII) of Sindh.

2. It will be applicable from the Academic Year 2020.

3. This scheme of study may be reviewed as per emerging need.

4. Morning Assembly should be ensured.

5. Formative Assessment will be ensured in all grades.

6. This Scheme of Studies will be reviewed each year, in the light of stakeholders’ feedback.

 WEEKLY TIME TABLE

The District Education Offices can develop weekly time in the light of school timing notified by the
competent authority. Some guidelines are provided here.

● School should start with assembly. 10 to 15 Minutes will be dedicated for assembly.

● School should complete 40 periods in a week as described in Scheme of Studies

● Four periods before break and three after break are recommended on Monday to

Thursday & Saturday.

● Three periods before break and two after break are recommended on Friday.

● A break of thirty minutes is recommended. However, in double shift schools and on Friday

the break time may be curtailed which must not be less than twenty minutes.
● Any monitoring team will refer to the school timing notification. Therefore, the school

must start and end on the prescribed time.

 SAMPLE SUBJECT TIME TABLE
School Heads are advised to develop subject time table as per available resources. A sample time table is given for
guideline.

The academic calendar may be changed because of Ramzan and change in Summer and Winter
Vacations, therefore “The Director School Education” (DSEs) may develop or modify existing Schedule of
Studies in the light the guideline given by the CURRIUCULUM COUNCIL.
