ORAGANSATION CLIMATE

Climate in a natural sense is referred to as the average of condition of the veather


at a place over a period of year exhibited by temperature, wind velocity and precipitation.
However, it is quite difficult to define organization climate incorporating the characteristics of
natural climate. This is so because the most frustrating feature of an attempt to deal with
situational variables in a model of a management performance has enormous complexity of the
environment itself. It makes the definition and measurement of situational variables very
difficult. One way to conceptualize the organization climate is to consider potential properties

2.A NEED FOR STUDY

Organizational climate can be defined as perceptions that employee can leave on the
development of the organization.

The term climate is used to designate the quality of the internal environmental which
conditions, turn the quality of co-operation, the development of the individual, the extent of
member's dedication or commitment to organizational purpose and the efficiency with which
that purpose becomes translated in to results. Climate is the atmosphere in which individuals
help judge, reward, constrain and find out about each other. It influences moral and the attitude
of the individual towards work and his environment.
Organization climate has a major influence on human performance through its impact on
individuals motivation and job satisfaction. Individual in the organization have certain
expectation and fulfillment. There expectations depend upon their perception as to how the
Organizational climate suits to the satisfaction of their needs. Since satisfaction of individuals
goes a long way in determining their efficiency, organizational climate can be directly related
with the performance.

2.B OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY


Primary objective:
To study the overall organization climate of JAIBHARATH MILLS, MALAYANGULAM.
Secondary objective:
To study the factors influencing the organization climate of JAIBHARATH MILLS,
MALAYANGULAM.
To rank the factors influencing the organization climate of JAIBHARATH MILLS,
MALAYANGULAM.
* To study the level of satisfaction of the factors influencing the organization climate of
JAIBHARATH MILLS, MALAYANGULAM.
To study the relationship between the demographic factors and the level of satisfaction
organization climate and the factors influencing it.

2.C SCOPE OF THE STUDY

To assess the real opinion and mindset of employs and aids to meet out there expectations
in feature which in turn will increase the volume and quality

To understands the employee psychology organisation climate so that the organisation


can take appropriate measures

To throw light on the effectiveness of the organisation climate provided to employee so


that it can create the root for further improvement

2.D LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY


The study on organisation climate is very wide vast so all the facts and features regarding
the study could not be analyzed and taken into account

The sample respondents belongs to a single organisation jai bharath mills there for the
result of the study cannot be generalized to other organisation

It is difficult to measure the attitude of the workers exactly therefore the result of the
study cannot be considered precise

CHAPTER-III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Sample size

For these 80 study retailers where taken as the sample size to collect there lathed data.

Data collection techniques

The technique that was used by the researcher for collecting primary data was the
questionnaire method.
The researcher has used the structure form of the questionnaire with the close us open-
end question.

The researcher has collected primary data from the respondents and secondary data from
post research.

Face to face method secondary data was also adopted to have additional information.

1. Primary Data

Primary data is a type of data gathered from a select geographical sample. If you need
data on the environments you are living in, then you may prepare a schedule of questions, select
an adequate number of samples and collect information by asking them to answer the questions.
These data may then be analyzed and interpreted for understanding the local phenomena.

2. Secondary Data

Secondary Data are generally gathered from books, reports and other documentary
sources. This type of data includes material on the environment from libraries, office files,
reports and other releases from organizations concerned with them. Such data may also be
gathered from the Census tracts.

3. Questionnaire

Questionnaire is a special practice to prepare a schedule of questions or a questionnaire


for interviewing a person. As such, the set of questions prepared are of two types:

(i) A set of questions prepared by the interviewer and is asked by the interviewer during
an interview is the first kind. It is a set of questions administered by the interviewer in the
interview.

(ii) A set of questions prepared by the interviewer and is given to the person being
interviewed and filled in by the interviewee: the person giving interview.

INTERPRETATION:

The above table shows that 10% of the respondents belongs to the age group of 18-20years,11.25%
of the respondents belongs to age group of 21-25 years, 8.75% of respondents belongs to age group of
26-30 years, 23,75% of respondents belongs to age group of 31-35 years and 46.25% of respondents
belongs to age group of 35 above.

Majority of respondents46.25% are in the age group of 35 above

INTERPRETATION:

The above table shows that 83.75% of the respondents are married, and remaining 16.25% of
respondents are unmarried.

INTERPRETATION:

The above table shows that 52.5% of respondent’s qualification is primary level, 26.25% of the
respondent’s qualification is SSLC, 8.75% of respondent’s qualification is HSC, 12.5% of respondent’s

FINDINGS:

The following are the findings that through light on “JAI BHARAT MILLS” workers
satisfaction level on organization climate

1. Majority of respondents46.25% are in the age group of 35 above

2. The majority of the respondents 83.75% are married.

3. It shows that majority of respondents are female 53.75.

4. Majority of the respondents 52.5% qualification is primary level.

5. The majority of respondents 48.75% have above 3 year experience.

6. It shows that majority of respondents 31.25% are belongs to highly satisfied.

7. It shows that majority of respondents 33.75% are neutral.

8. It shows that majority of respondents 47.5% are highly satisfied.

9. It shows that majority of respondents 33.75% are satisfied.

10. It shows that majority of respondents 37.5% are highly satisfied.

11. It shows that majority of respondents 32.5% are highly satisfied.

12. It clearly shows that majority of respondents 60% are satisfied.


SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Making a comparison between rank and significance of the various organization climate
factors, pay, relationship with the management, safety measures were the most important.
Hence they need to be continuously monitored and the loop holes be plugged.

Since pay in found to be the most important influencing factor of organization climate
the piece rate can be increased.

On interacting with various employees of JEYA BHARTH MILLS International the


following welfare measure suggestions were revealed.

1. Regarding canteen facilities, free tea can be provided for the workers. Proper hygiene
can be maintained by providing boiled utensils to the employees every time.
2. Latrines and urinal facilities can be increased. A frequent inspection will be helpful to
maintain the cleanliness all over the organization.
3. Water purifiers can be provided for each and every department so that the satisfactory
level Can be increased. Further uniform and shoes can be provided for the workers.

Some Suggestions for improving relationship with the management are:

4. The management can give proper care towards grievance handling system.
5. Emphasis can be placed on counseling programs and training and development
programs.
6. Individual performance can be recognized for better functioning of the organization.

CONCLUSION:
Climate is the atmosphere that employees perceive and it is created in their organization by

practices procedures and rewards. A sound climate is the long term proportion. Organization

climate is an important key to employee’s satisfaction motivation and performance

The existing organization has been decided on the basis of observation conversation with

workers and analysis of questionnaire collected from the company. Out of total population of

570 workers a sample 80 was selected for the study. Most of the workers under the study have

rated the organization climate as good.

If the suggestion are implemented it would created the further conductive climate for the
organization to achieve its
