1. This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide
academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly
students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools.

4. Eligibility:
Who May Apply: (by category) State Education Agencies (SEAs)
Who May Apply: (specifically) Awards are made to SEAs. Local education agencies
(LEAs) and nonprofit organization may apply to states for subgrants.
Formula grants are awarded to State educational agencies, which in turn manage
statewide competitions and award grants to eligible entities. For this program, eligible
entity means a local educational agency, community-based organization, another
public or private entity, or a consortium of two or more of such agencies,
organizations, or entities. States must give priority to applications that are jointly
submitted by a local educational agency and a community-based organization or other
public or private entity.
Consistent with this definition of eligible entities, faith-based organizations are
eligible to participate in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program.
Regulations are available governing the participation of faith-based organizations in
Federal programs for which they are eligible are available.

5. This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide
academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly
students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps
students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as
reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can
complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other
educational services to the families of participating children.

1. Educators frequently need outside resources to engage in meaningful professional
development due to limited district funding.
2. Private Grant
3. All Grade Levels
4. Grants are available to current members of the National Education Association
who are educators in public schools or public institutions of higher education. We
especially encourage education support professionals to apply.
5. No specific requirements, however special preference is given to proposals that
incorporate STEM and/or global competence in their projects.
6. Through our Learning & Leadership grants, we support the professional
development of NEA members by providing grants to:
a. Individuals to participate in high-quality professional development like
summer institutes, conferences, seminars, travel abroad programs, or action
research
b. Groups to fund collegial study, including study groups, action research, lesson
plan development, or mentoring experiences for faculty or staff.

a. Clarke M. Williams Foundation – CenturyLink
1. The CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation's Teachers and Technology grants
are designed to help fund projects that advance student success through the innovative
use of technology.
2. Private Funding
3. Teachers in public or private PreK-12 schools
4. Teachers in public or private PreK-12 schools in either CenturyLink's residential
service areas or core Corporate locations (Ouachita Parish, LA; Johnson County, KS;
St. Louis County, MO and Tulsa County, OK) are eligible to apply for a Teachers and
Technology grant for the 2019-2020 school year.
5. The CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation's Teachers and Technology grants
are designed to help fund projects that advance student success through the innovative
use of technology.
