Unit: 4 – Turning Effect of forces, Topic: Eqiulibrium & its conditions Pg. No.: 97-99
Day: 1 Date 16 March,2020
Eqiulibrium
 Watch the video of the equilibrium for understanding:
 What is equilibrium?
 How many conditions of equilibrium are there?
 What is first condition of equilibrium?
 What is second condition of equiblibrium?
Here is the link of the videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB6RGEWDRVQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19x2Nfm50l4
 After watching the video read the page 97 till 99.
 Now look at the figure 4.26 and 4.27 on page 97. How these objects are in equilibiurm? How they
satisfy first condition of equilibrium?
 Now look at the example 4.5 on page 98.
Homework:
Solve the worksheet

Worksheet:

Q1. Copy and complete the following:

i. A body is said to be in _____________ if no net ___________ acts on it.

ii. There are ___________ conditions of equilibrium.

iii. Now look at the image of the apple and mark how many forces are acting in it. Now
check if all the forces are cancelling eachothers effect or not. If so then is the object
under equilibrium or not.

First Condtion of quilibrium:

i. The mathematical form of first condition of equilibrium is _____________.

ii. State the first condition of equilibrium.

iii. Look at the image on the right and teel whether it is in equilibrium or not and does it satisfy the
first condition of equilibrium or not. Prove it.

Second condition of equilibrium:

i. The mathematical form of second condition of equilibrium is ____________.

ii. State the second condition of equilibrium.

iii. Look at the image given below and answer whether it is in equilibrium or not. If so does it satisfy the
second condition of equilibrium. Prove it.
