selection will be available in Caterpillar ET 2019B.

EMCP software is updated to detect tooth abutment and disengage starter pinion by aborting the start attempt. Starter will be reengaged for a subsequent attempt up to the
smaller of configured maximum number of attempts or 3 failed attempts. This strategy will be enabled by default in EMCP.

When 'Engine Operating State Input Configuration' is set to 'Hardwired Input', EMCP expects to have engine starter control and will execute tooth abutment strategy. If this
configuration is set incorrectly, this software will result in failed engine start attempts. EMCP display and Service Tool version 2019C will have the option to disable the tooth
abutment check.
