Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience?

This experience allowed me to see how technology leaders need to be knowledgeable of various digital tools available to accommodate student diversity. I
was able to use this program called Flocabulary to help my ELL students work on their mathematical vocabulary terms and definitions. Instructional leaders
must have the ability to incorporate research-based best practices and digital tools to ensure they support their students and teachers as effectively as
possible.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)

Knowledge – This experience showed me how important it is to be knowledgeable of different technological programs that can support students’ specific
needs. Instructional leaders must understand that not only one digital resource or tool may support all students within a classroom; therefore, it is imperative
to continue growing our knowledge of new digital resources and tools that become available within the education system for student and teacher benefits.
Skills – Instructional leaders must possess the necessary skills of meeting students where they are. This experience showed me that I had to have the proper
skills and knowledge to further assist my ELL students. Without gaining knowledge about how to use various strategies to teach my ELL students, I don’t
think that I would have been as effective as their teacher as I am now.

Dispositions – This field experience showed me that no matter what, an Instructional leader should remain positive and enthusiastic that they can support all
of their teachers and students no matter what. Even though I knew it would be more challenging trying to help my ELL students understand various
definitions and key terms than my English-speaking students, I knew that no matter what I would work hard and not give up on them. This experience
showed me how important having a positive disposition in a helping and coaching relationship is.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed?
This field experience impacted student learning for my ELL students because I was able to provide them one on one session to further assist them with some
key terms and definitions. Although I am not their ELL teacher specifically, I felt that providing them these opportunities of working with them individually
would not only help them in math, but I knew this experience would help them all together. I was able to assess their understanding and mastery formatively
on the assessment within Flocabulary. However, I think that on-going assessment can occur by me monitoring my students as they work throughout class to
see if they use some of the various strategies that I worked on them with to better understand some of the mathematical terms and definitions covered.
