1. Discuss in detail the functions of HRM with help of example.

Human Resource Management (HRM):Human resource Management is

a series of integrated decisions that from the employment relationship; their

quality contributes to the ability contributes to the ability of the organizations and

the employees to achieve their objectives.

Functions of HRM:

The key functions of the Human Resources Management (HRM) team include

recruiting people, training them, performance appraisals, motivating employees as

well as workplace communication, workplace safety, and much more.

RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION


Recruitment is the process of searching the candidates for employment and

stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization whereas selection involves the

series of steps by which the candidates are screened for choosing the most suitable

persons for vacant posts.

INDUCTION AND ORIENTATION

Induction and orientation are the two programs designed to provide new join with the

information they require to function comfortably and efficiently in the organization.


TRAINIG AND DEVELOPMENT

Training and development is an attempt to improve current or future employee

performance by increasing an employee’s ability to perform through learning, usually

by changing the employee’s attitude or increasing his or her skills and knowledge.

COMENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation and benefits refers to the compensation/salary and other monetary and

non-monetary benefits passed on by a firm to its employees. It helps to keep the

employees motivated and brings the best out of them at workplace.


HEALTHY, SAFETY AND SECURITY

For smooth functioning of an organization, the employer has to ensure safety and

security of his employees. The terms healthy, safety and security are closely related to

each other.

 Health- refers to employees’ freedom from illness and their general physical

and mental well-being.

 Safety- protecting employees from injuries caused by work-related accidents

or diseases.

 Security- refers to protecting facilities and equipment’s from unauthorized

access and protecting.


2. Explain “Controlling is forward and backwardlooking

function”.

Solve. Controlling as an essential part of management is forward as well as

backward looking. It is a backward looking function in the sense that it assesses

the work done and analyses deviations from the set standards. Based on these

deviations it attempts to take the required corrective measures. Thus, it guides the

future course of action and aims at improving the future performance. In this

sense, it is also a forward looking function. Hence, we can say that controlling is

forward as well as backward looking function.
