Sessions
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of how gases behave based on the motion and
relative distances between gas particles.
B. Performance Standards
C. Learning Investigate the relationship between volume and temperature at constant pressure of a gas;
Competencies/Objectives (S10MT-IVa-b-21)
Write the LC code for each Specific Objectives:
a) Discuss the concept of Gay-Lussac's Law.
b) Explain the relationship between pressure and temperature at constant volume.
c) Reflect on the effect of changes in pressure and temperature to the behavior of
gases.
d) Solve various problems using the formula described by Gay-Lussac's Law.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or ELICIT (5 min)
presenting the new lesson 1. The teacher will conduct a review of the previous lesson.
2. Random students will give insights of what they have learned from the previous topic.
4. The teacher presents the objectives of the lesson.

B. Establishing a purpose for the ENGAGE (5 min)

lesson Oral Sharing
1. The teacher shall ask random students about their experience about pressure cooker.
2. Let the learners share their memories about pressure cooker and give some insights
about what will happen to the meat inside the pressure cooker. Points will be given to
students who are actively participating.
3. The teacher facilitates in the discussion.

C. Discussing new concepts and EXPLORE (10 min)

practicing new skills. Activity "Experimenting Gay-Lussac's Law"
1. The teacher lead the students to the next activity which is "Experimenting Gay-Lussac's
Law using computer simulation of PHET".
2. The students will simultaneously perform the given activity.
3. Students will take note of the important details from the simulation used in the activity.
4. In their learning teams, students shall have a FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION &
Brainstorming Activity about concepts/insights generated from the activity.
D. Developing mastery (Leads to EXPLAIN (30 min)
Formative Assessment) 1. The teacher will further elaborate the concept of Gay-Lussac's Law and explain the
relationship between pressure and temperature of gas at constant volume.
2. Students are allowed to ask questions and add insights.
3. Using the Gay-Lusssac's Law equation, the teacher will demonstrate the process of
solving word problems about the relationship between pressure and temperature.
4. The students will do a practice exercise in solving word problems.
5. "THINK-PAIR-SHARE". In pair, the students will discuss and solve various problems
in an activity sheet provided by the teacher. They will be given 15 minutes to answer.
6. The teacher shall facilitate in the calculation and problem solving and shall give
additional input.

E. Finding practical applications of ELABORATE (5 min)

concepts and skills in daily living 1. The teacher will ask the students on the importance of studying the relationship between
pressure and temperature.
2. Each group will give insights and will given points every participating group.
F. Making generalizations and 3. The teacher shall facilitate in the discussion and shall provide additional facts and input;
abstractions about the lesson students are encouraged to add insights or ask questions.

G. Evaluating learning EVALUATE (5 min)

Word Problem Solving: In a 1/4 sheet of paper, answer the problem for a better grasp of
the lesson. (Show your solution for 10 points)

1. The temperature inside my car tire is about 90 °C when I drove my car for four hours. If
the initially temperature of my car's tire is 22 °C at a pressure 2 atm., what will be pressure
of my car's tire after 4 hours? 2.5 atm.

H. Additional activities for EXTEND

application or remedistion 1. 1/4 sheet of paper; show your solution for 10 points
A 30.0 L sample of nitrogen inside a rigid, metal container at 20.0 °C is placed inside an
oven whose temperature is 50.0 °C. The pressure inside the container at 20.0 °C was at
3.00 atm. What is the pressure of the nitrogen after its temperature is increased to 50.0 °C?

2. Bring calculator individually tomorrow and study in advance Combined Gas Law.

V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learner's who earned 80%
in the evaluation

additional activities for remediation
who scored below 80%
C. Did the remedial lessons work?
No. of learners who have caught up
with the lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did these work?
