The semester and year-long programs at Ben Gurion
University (BGU) are designed for college students
seeking a formative academic period of study in Israel.
At BGU, you will study Hebrew language and choose
from a variety of English-language courses in Jewish
studies, political science, sociology, anthropology,
archeology of the Middle East, ecology, the arts, and
environmental studies. You may also enroll in courses
in a number of academic disciplines that are offered
in English by other departments. You may supplement
your coursework with, independent study and volunteer
opportunities. Available concentrations: Anthropology

Description
The Rothberg Academic Partnership Program (RAPP)
is designed for students who wish to take recognized
courses at the Hebrew University’s Rothberg Other Hebrew University of
International School while participating in the gap Jerusalem programs for high
year program of their choice. RAPP offers qualified school graduates:
students several options: Intensive Hebrew language Freshman/Academic Gap Year Program
study during the months of August and September, (see p. 11)
as well as during intersession from late January to Mechina Program (see p. 121)
mid-February and standard Hebrew language studies
during the autumn and spring semesters, or Freshman

The Patisserie Program at the Jerusalem Culinary
Institute — the first and only Mehadrin culinary
institute of its kind — teaches baking theory, pastry and
confectionary skills, chocolate and cake decorating,
breads, dough, gateaux, tarts, fillings and sauces,
icing and decorative techniques. Kashrut and Hebrew Other Jerusalem Culinary
language classes are included in the program. Guest Institute programs for high
chefs, tours and trips around Israel are also included school graduates:

Beit Chana offers a special Chassidishe Torah-
orientated learning and teaching program for
students from abroad. The teaching training
program at Beis Chana Sefad Chul expects
admitted students to excel in Chasidishkiet,
Tzniyut, Yirat Shamaim, Tefilla, Hiskashrus and
more. Those who complete all the obligations
of the program receive a “Morot Lagolah”
certificate from the government. The seminary
was established primarily for Israeli-Hebrew
speaking high school graduates, so most classes
are in Hebrew and applicants must have full
command of the Hebrew language.

Midreshet Tehillah is an academically focused seminary
program for recent high school graduates whose

Shalhevet is a one-year honors course of study
designed for women who have acquired a solid
background in Jewish studies, either as students in

Description
The members of your Garin Tzabar, a group
for Diaspora Jews and children of Israelis who
choose to move to Israel and serve in the IDF,
are adopted by the Israel Scouts and placed in a
hosting kibbutz that quickly becomes their home
away from home throughout the duration of Other Tzofim programs for high
their army service. Once arriving in Israel, your school graduates:

into the state of Israel. You will participate in
seminars with educators and soldiers to build
a solid Garin unit and to prepare for your army
