List of Self Work:
1. Design helical gear. Spring consists of following dimensions, wire diameter = 0.45mm, Pitch = 1.75mm, mean diameter of spring =
4.35mm, free length of spring = 10.2mm, no. of active coil = 6. For analysis ANSYS 14.5 (workbench) is used. Since spring used in
horn so, load applied is small and in this case, it is considered as 1N. Load is varied as 1N, 2N, 3N, 4N, 5N. Material Properties of
spring Material Stainless Steel Modulus of elasticity 193000 N/mm2, Poisson’s ration 0.3, Density 8 E-09 tones/mm3, Shear modulus
588.99 N/mm2. Also find deformation of spring under all loading condition.
2. Determine temperature distribution within a rectangular plate, based on the specified temperatures on the plate edges, and the plate
dimensions. Take surface temperature 100 0C & wall temperature 200 0C (Assume any suitable dimensions of plate)
3. Determine the temperature distribution within a 6 mm thick turbine blade, with 2 mm x 6 mm rectangular cooling channels.
4. Determine air flow velocity for flow over the flat plate, based on specified velocity and pressure boundary conditions, and plate
dimensions. The fluid is air, with density, ρ=1.23 kg/m 3, and dynamic viscosity, μ =1.79E-5 N-s/m2. The plate is 1 m long, as shown,
and is very thin. It will be modeled with a thickness of 0.001 m. The plate is modeled in a square field, with edge lengths of 2 m.
List of Experiments:
1. Design of crank for given dimension
5. Design of shaft assembly. The assembly consists of three parts: the Shaft [4] created in Section 2.7, a Handle [5], and a Hinge [6]. We use a
coordinate system for the assembly which is coincident with that of the part Shaft. Detail and dimensions are given in drawing

6. A cantilever beam of length 400 mm, width 60 mm and height 40 mm, carrying a point load of 2500 N at free end. Poisson’s ratio = 0.3
7. .Simply Supported Beam with Uniformly Distributed Load W per unit length
8. Assuming L=100m, b=10m, h=10m,ѵ =0.3, E=2×107N/m2, F=500N.
7. A simply supported beam with UDL 500/unit length, Assuming L=100 mt, B=10 mt, H=10 mt. Poisson’s ratio = 0.3. Take E = 2*107 N/m2.
8. A simply supported beam with point load at centre of 300 N, Assuming L=150 mt, B=10 mt, H=8 mt. Poisson’s ratio = 0.3. Take E = 2*107
N/m2.
9. A cantilever beam of length 600 mm, width 70 mm and height 40 mm, carrying a Uniformly Distributed load of 300 N/m. E = 2*107 N/m2
Poisson’s ratio = 0.3
10. Cross-sectional area of truss members = 3.0E-4 m2; Modulus of Elasticity = 2.07E11 N/m2. Circled numbers shown are node numbers

11. Determine the nodal deflections, reaction forces, and stress for the truss system shown below (E = 200GPa, A = 3250mm2).

12. Determine the force in each member of the following truss. Indicate if the member is in tension or compression. The cross-sectional area of each
member is 0.01 m and the Young’s modulus is 200 * 109 N/m2
14. The masses will be modeled as blocks, 1 m x 1 m, with unit thickness. So, they have a volume of 1 m3. The densities will be specified to
produce the correct masses. Also, the free lengths of the springs are irrelevant in this analysis, as only the stiffness matter. But, they will
both be assumed to have a length of 5 m. Find mode shape.
