Box 12428 Austin, TX 78701 Dear Governor Abbott: am writing you today concerning the upcoming release of tax appraisals. As you know, the appraisals are based on values as of 01 January 2020. Those appraisals will not be consistent with values as of an economic downturn this month and complicated with lost jobs and economic difficulties. ‘The appraisal districts can expect a wave of appeals and most likely will be overrun with people filing protests at a time when social distancing and minimal crowds will be so very important. 1 ask that you consider freezing last years values for this years valuations, extending the ending day for protests or require all appraisal districts to reappraise valuations based upon the current market and national emergency.
