PRUEBA ORAL- MODELO 1

Realice el siguiente ejercicio con cada uno de sus estudiantes. El examen oral
se hará íntegramente en inglés y consta de dos partes: monólogo y entrevista
con el tutor. La duración aproximada de la prueba oral será de 10 minutos, de
los cuales el alumno usará los 3-4 primeros minutos para su monólogo o
exposición oral. Una vez leído el tema, el alumno dispondrá de dos minutos en
los que podrá tomar notas que le sirvan de guía para el monólogo; en ningún
caso se permitirá al alumno leer directamente de las mismas, aunque sí podrá
echar un vistazo para organizar mejor el discurso. Después del monólogo, el
profesor procederá a entrevistar al alumno usando las preguntas propuestas
según el tema. Puede examinar a los estudiantes individualmente o en parejas.
Se hará sólo una de las opciones A, B o C, la que decida el profesor-tutor.

Los tutores enviarán la rúbrica de evaluación que se adjunta en el caso de

los alumnos NO APTOS. Se aconseja encarecidamente que se proceda a
la grabación de todos los exámenes, de cara a una posible revisión.

INSTRUCTIONS

Talk for about three minutes. The teacher can ask you some questions when
you finish your monologue.

A. GLOBALIZATION
- The concept of globalization
- Possible causes
- Its effect on languages

Possible Teacher’s Questions:

- What images spring to mind when you hear the word Globalization?
- What are the good things and the bad things about Globalization?
- How has popular culture added to Globalization?

B. CONSUMERISM
- Social facts influencing consumerism
- Shopaholics and spending habits
- Legal rights as a consumer

Possible Teacher’s Questions:

- Would you say you are a shopaholic? What percentage of items that you
buy are things you want rather than need?
- Have you ever had to complain about something you’ve bought? What
happened?
- Would you prefer a refund or an exchange if you took an item back to the
shop?

C. FOOD
- Benefits of eating seasonally.
- Organic farming.
- Rituals we commonly associate with food.

Possible Teacher’s Questions:

- Have you noticed that grocery stores shelves look much the same in
December as they do in July? What’s your opinion about it?
- Do you think there should be larger government subsidies for organic
farming?
- Describe a family gathering you have had to attend and the rituals
related to it.
