1. What is the personality character of Ben in the movie?

Authenticity
He is honest about his strengths ,his weakness and values .He also lets his passion and
desire for the role shine. This authenticity shows through in everything he does at work.
He isn’t afraid to be himself in this modern workplace of internet commerce – sporting a
classic briefcase and being the only one to wear a suit and tie. He’s comfortable and
confident being who he is. There’s no mask, just openness and honesty.
Humility
Despite working as a vice president in his previous company, Ben rarely hustles for more
responsibility, and didn’t mention his background or skills unless asked. Instead he lets
his performance do the talking for him.
Initiative
Ben has initiative quality. When Jules fails to give Ben any work ,he makes himself
useful. He finds out oppurtunities to learn new things from his colleagues and also helps
them. As seen in the movie Ben takes an initiative to clear the desk which was
overloaded.
Mentoring
With an office full of young people, Ben becomes an informal ‘mentor’ to many of his
new colleagues. He supports Becky, Jules’s PA – listening to her frustrations, helping her
manage her workload and ensuring she gets more recognition. Most of all he becomes a
subtle mentor to Jules herself, encouraging her to resist her Board’s efforts to have her
recruit a CEO, and helping to build her confidence when needed.

2. What are the leadership styles adopted by Jules?


The leadership style adopted by Jules was more like Autocratic model of leadership.
She didn’t any authority to rule over her. She thought she could do everything by her
self . She didn’t wanted an intern , but was forced to have an intern because she was
the founder of About the Fit and she set the tone for the rest of the organization. If she
were to shun the senior interns, it would set a precedent for the rest of the company to
follow.

3. What is the kind of motivational techniques used by Jules and Ben to co- workers
Jules showcased the fact that good things needs to be appreciated and celebrated. As
shown in the movie , whenever any good things happens in the office any of the intern
or employee rings the bell and appreciates the person for his/her good work. By doing
this the interns are motivated and encouraged.
Whereas Ben helps his colleagues in various work which motivates them to work and
respect everyone.
4. What is the learning style adopted by Ben?
In the movie ,it is shown that Ben was not having any work ,he was sitting idle for
many days . He himself takes an initiative and gets indulged in other work by
helping his colleagues and also learning from them.
He helps his colleagues to get noticed for their contribution and brings a sense of a
calm and experience to a frenetic office environment making the workplace better.

Jules is shown always juggling between work and family. She spends most of her time
in her office .Even if she has 220 employees in her company, she is only satisfied when she
supervisors the work by herself. She spends most of the time in office. But she is trying to
spend much of the time with her family by appointing CEO ,so that the CEO can manage the
work in office.

7. What is your learning from the movie?


From this movie we learn various lessons

• Aim for work life balance.


Work life balance is very important . This term is commonly used but not practiced.
Everyone is always on the go and busy in their work . Many people hardly get time to
spend with their family which may create problems between them .
• Embrace the digital world with open arms
In the movie we can see that Ben doesn’t know how to upload videos ,email etc. In
fact he also joined Facebook at age of 70. This shows Ben adapts to the changes . We
should also change according to time and adapt the digital world.
• Respect your co-worker’s advice and decisions
