INSTRUCTIONS: GRADED HOMEWORK (UNIT 2)

1. Join a group if you do not have one already. There are four groups already formed.
a. Group 1: Joaquin, Javiera P., Magdalena, Paula, Gustavo, Valentina.
b. Group 2: Christian, Matias A, Matias G., Javiera A., Fernanda.
c. Group 3: Jose, Constanza, Stefano.
d. Group 4: Diego, Tamara, Simon.
2. Each group must choose one (1) of the following categories. Categories must not be
repeated.
a. Biological foundations of FLA (Emphasis on biology).
b. Language and the brain (Emphasis on cognition and the effects of the brain in
language production)
c. Sociocultural factors of L1 acquisition.
d. Grammatical milestones.
3. Create a mind map with the most important contents in each of the categories. I’ll
evaluate the following criteria:

CRITERIA DESCRIPTIONS POINTS


Creativity There is a clear attempt to design an engaging mind map. The 5 pts
students try to convey the information in an interactive way.
Effectiveness Students are able to effectively summarize the information 10 pts
visually. Students avoid using a lot of text.
Use of There are no typos, grammatical, syntactical and/or lexical 5 pts
English mistakes in the poster.
Content The presentation includes all the most relevant information of 10 pts
each category (main concepts, stages, authors, and examples).
Presentation The presentation is coherently organized. It is easy to read and 5 pts.
facilitates its study. It only contains one (1) ppt slide (poster).
TOTAL 35 pts
