Dear Parents and students,

I will be offering a 15-20 minute conference call every weekday at 10am. Students are
encouraged (but not obligated) to join. Each day will be focused on reviewing a different
subject and giving students a chance to ask questions. Students will receive an invite from me
each morning to join the video call.

*Please remember, some assignments (math, ELA, Bible) will be daily. Other assignments
(Spanish, Social Studies, Science) will be given for the week. Please make sure weekly
assignments are complete by Friday at 4pm.

Please see below the daily assignments for Wednesday, March 18th.
❏ Music- We are looking at the different instrument families. We are going to start with
Woodwind instruments. This would include the flute, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, and
oboe. Please watch the following video about how woodwinds make sound and respond
to the three questions below using ​complete sentences. ​ It is posted on Google
Classroom. Then answer the questions that are attached to the assignment in Google
Classroom.

❏ Math- Do Lesson 20.4 (PW91) in your Math Practice book ODD numbers #1-17. You may
use your calculator. Check your answers with a friend BEFORE you take a picture and

❏ Read the following article on Freckle : #69 - 1918 Flu Pandemic
❏ Answer question about the article on Freckle: ​#87 - 1918 Flu Pandemic
❏ Using your main idea web, write one paragraph in your biography research
report. Send me a picture of your completed work. You should have at least 6
paragraphs now and should be starting on your third main topic - if you don’t,
make sure you are working a little more every day to catch up. If you are already
done, you don’t have to do this today!
❏ Bible- Watch the video on Google classroom about Paul’s second missionary journey to
Athens. Answer the question posted in Google classroom.

The following assignments are the same as your checklist from yesterday. You will have the
whole week to finish them. Ideally you will work on a small piece every day for about 20 min.
They are due by Friday at 4 pm.

❏ 1) Watch the properties of water video (the graphic organizer goes with this
video.)
❏ 2) Complete the graphic organizer. Some of this is review and some of it is new
information! Email or take a picture and send your final copy to Mrs. Marcum for
a grade. If you do not have access to a printer, you may copy and complete the
graphic organizer on a separate sheet of paper.
❏ 3) Watch the experiment about why ice floats.
❏ 4) Watch the experiment about the specific heat of water and how that affects
climate change.
❏ 5) Watch the experiment about water as the universal solvent.
*Optional - ​with parent supervision and permission​, try one of the
experiments on your own
❏ Social Studies-
❏ 1) Watch the video
❏ 2) Read ONE memoir (There are 4; you only have to pick one.)
❏ 3) Answer the questions on Google Forms.
❏ 4) Write a one paragraph letter to your family using the instructions in the file.
