USE BE GOING TO
Future Simple (going to) es el futuro en inglés que expresa una conclusión lógica,
un plan, o una situación programada con anterioridad. Este tiempo se construye
con el presente del verbo auxiliar be + going to + el infinitivo del verbo principal.
She has just looked out of the window. The sky is blue – it is not going to rain. So Mrs
Lucky is going to leave her umbrella at home
Ejemplo:
Mrs Lucky is going to meet a friend in town. (inglés formal/lengua escrita)
I’m gonna meet a friend in town.(inglés informal/lengua hablada)
Recuerda que no debes usar esta fórmula nunca en el lenguaje formal escrito.
PREPOSITIONS
PHRASAL VERBS
Phrasal verbs son verbos que van siempre acompañados de una preposición, de
un adverbio, o ambos. Esta combinación suele resultar en un verbo con un significado
totalmente distinto al del verbo original.
Ejemplo
Uso
En inglés es muy común emplear phrasal verbs en contextos cotidianos y
coloquiales. Como no exiten unas normas que reglen el significado que
adquiere un verbo en combinación con ciertas preposiciones, deben
aprenderse de memoria junto con el resto de vocabulario.
Ejemplo:
go through – pasar por/sufrir/padecer
Norman is going through hard times at the moment.
get by without someone –prescindir de/pasar sin/arreglárselas sin
alguien
He has to get by without her.
Ejemplo:
His girlfriend broke up with him last week.
His girlfriend ended their relationship last week.
He always thought they got on well.
He always thought they were on good terms.
Well, somehow he has to put up with the situation.
Well, somehow he has to accept the situation.
Life goes on.
Life continues.
