aren’t going to buy phantom head)

5- X-ray facility
6- Compressor air motor + hand-pieces high and slow
speed or micromotor

B- Tools & Materials

 Amalgam
- Amalgam carrier
- Condenser (big & small)
- Spoon Excavator
- Ball burnisher
- Amalgam carvers (hollenback, discoid-cleoid &
interproximal carver)
- Amalgam capsules (spill 3 or at least spill 2,
preferably slow setting amalgam either SDI
extended carving time, SDI slow setting or
Chinese GK brand)
- Wide matrix bands (preferable No.3) or pre-
contoured matrix band & matrix retainer
(tofflemire)
- Largest wooden wedges
- Metal strips

C- Burs
N.B: The following burs are personal preferences
and not necessarily to use all of them

A) For Crown Preparation Tasks


Preferably diamond burs BLUE bands:
1 - Tapered diamond round end with tip diameter
0.5mm for full gold crown (FGC) prep & palatal
reduction of porcelain fused to metal (PFM)
2- Small & large football (flame) diamond for FGC
occlusal reduction
3- Straight (parallel-sided) diamond flat end with
tip diameter 1.2mm for PFM crown prep labially
and proximally
4- Composite finishing diamond (yellow band) or
Sof-Lex discs for finishing

B) For Amalgam Cavity Preparation Task


1- Carbide Burs No. 330 & 245
2- Slow speed small carbide round bur
3- Slow speed small diamond inverted cone

C) For Composite Cavity Preparation Tasks (on
caries-simulated teeth)
1- Slow speed carbide round burs size 1/2,1,2
2- Composite fine finishing diamond (yellow
band)
3- Slow speed bur No. 245 (or high speed on
the slow speed adaptor) for class II

D) For Endodontic Access Task


1- Endo access bur
2- Endo Z bur
3- Diamond tapered or straight
4- Mueller bur (slow speed long shank bur with
round end)
5- Shofu Dura-White burs for finishing (tapered
with fine end and the flame shaped)

E) For Composite Restorations Tasks Finishing


1- Sof-Lex Discs
2- Small & large football (flame) finishing
diamonds (yellow band)
3- Composite fine finishing stone (yellow band)

D- Teeth

A) Plain Ivorine teeth (Columbia)


it's recommended to buy:
- #11 for class IV composite restoration – (5-7
each)
- #36,46,37,47 for FGC crown prep -- (7-10 each)
- #13,23,33,43 for PFM crown prep --(7-10 each)
- #15,25 for class II composite restoration -- (5
each)
- #14,24,16,26 for provisional crown -- (3 each)
- #17,27,36,46 for class II amalgam restoration --
(5 each)
- #35,45 for class II amalgam cavity prep -- (5-7
each)

B) Caries-Simulated teeth (from onedental)


Mostly you will need to buy
- #11 MD, #12 D, #46 MOD (5-7 each)
and buy 1-2 teeth of upper 5&6

C) Endo teeth (from onedental)
- 16 & 26 (at least 5-7 each)
- 36 & 46 (only 1 or 2 teeth as they still have
only 2 canals in onedental)
