Dear Mr. President,

Good day!
My family and I is seeking your office to help my mother hospital bills and medical expenses. A
week ago while on regular dialysis days my mother wash rushed into nearby hospital due to chest
pain and difficulty of breathing that causes serious effects to her heart. She was admitted in ICU, to
find out what is the cause of her pain the doctor advise us to have angiogram, followed by the
angioplasty procedure and only to find out there’s an occlusion in her heart as per the result of the
procedure.

My nanay Emily was diagnosed of diabetes at age 35. During that time she was working as a cook in
a furniture company with in-house canteen. Coming from a not well off family and with 5 kids she
priorities our needs instead of her. Taking metformin solely for many years was enough for her since
future of her kids must always comes first. Seeing a doctor regularly was not an option because
money is not enough for a living. She neglected herself in sacrifice for her five kids. Years went by
and whenever she felt sick she just endured and ignored it, taking only painkillers and whatever
medicine is available. She deprived herself from seeing a specialist not because she  doesn’t want to,
but because she thinks it’s the right thing to do, as for her, health was not a priority, but her kids. 
 
My nanay used to say ‘Education is the only inheritance that she and my father could give us,
and it’s the only thing that can’t be taken away from us. “Kaya igagapang namin ang pag aaral nyo”. 
She have struggled so much for our family. And finally after years of being selfless, she gets to see
the fruit of her sacrifice... and that’s to see all her children finish their studies. Her wish and only goal
finally all came true. But shortly after that a devastating news came to her. She was diagnosed with a
chronic kidney disease stage 5, and only 7percent of her kidney is functioning. The only thing she can
do is to undergo a hemodialysis twice a week or kidney transplant, take oral medications, injections,
etc. Since then, her health is not good anymore she’s been hospitalized in and out up to this date.  
 
But unfortunately, our family is short from money resources for years of treating her. We are
knocking on your generous heart for financial assistance to help us defray
the hospitalization cost. We have spent nearly five hundred thousand pesos for her hospital bill and
to come up to this amount we barrowed money from relatives, friends create a GoFundMe account
in social media, dswd and pcso to generate the amount I mentioned, but it is not enough.

Currently the Makati Medical Center allowed us to used promissory notes, because we would like to
take our mother home to stop the incurring hospital bill. We have barrowed money from relatives
and friends that must be return soon. Since my mother is a dialysis patient we need to support her
dialysis treatment session and medication maintenance. But the hospital bill creates set back in my
family finances, that we are in deep depth. We are hoping you can help us because this will bring
relief in our family finances and to continuously support our mother dialysis.
