Applications are invited for admission to the Ph. D. Program in the Faculty of Law, National Law University,
Jodhpur.
Eligibility
 Postgraduate degree in Law with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
 A relaxation of 5% in eligibility criteria will be granted to candidates from SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy
layer)/SAP Categories.
 Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
(However, before the completion of the admission procedure, the original mark sheet of the qualifying
examination has to be produced to show that the candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria.)

Procedure of Admission
 Application forms may be downloaded from the website or collected personally from the office of the
Registrar, National Law University, NH-65, Nagaur Road, Jodhpur.
 Filled-up application form along with the self-attested photocopies of the supporting documents and a
demand draft of Rs.2500/- (Rs. Two thousand five hundred only) payable to the Registrar, National
Law University, Jodhpur, payable at Jodhpur must reach the following address on or before 20th April

 The application fee for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layer)/SAP candidate is Rs. 1500/-.
 The admission will be through an entrance test and a personal interview. The entrance test will be held
at National Law University, Jodhpur, on 28 April 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
 UGC-NET and JRF qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test
but will have to appear for the Personal Interview.
 The entrance test will seek to judge the abilities of the candidates in the fields of Subject Knowledge
and Research Methodology. The subject knowledge specific questions will be short-answer type as
well as multiple-choice questions.
 Candidates short-listed on the basis of entrance test will be called for a personal interview.
 Admission will be subject to the availability of vacancies and facilities in the area of research chosen
by the candidate.
 Candidates are advised to read the Rules of Ph. D. 2016 program also. (CLICK HERE)
 There shall be no change in the Broad Area of Research after the Personal Interview at the time of
selection.

Fee Structure
1. Admission fee at the time of provisional admission Rs. 5,000/-.
2. Tuition fee* (per semester) Rs. 25,000/-.
* The semester fee will be charged for the entire period of enrollment of the Research Scholar i.e. upto
the date of submission of thesis.
3. Thesis Submission & Evaluation Fee Rs. 50,000/-.
4. Hostel charges, Internet charges, caution money and other charges, if any, will be charged as per University
Rules.
