Step 1: Preparation for Testing pressure of standpipe and mud pumps valves
Task Supervisor to hold pre-job safety meeting to review all steps, hazards and precautions with
personnel
Make pressure test PTW
Note: Record pressure for 10 minutes and check for leaks for high pressure (250-2500)psi test
and 5 minutes for low pressure test.
1-connect test unit in standpipe manifold in rig floor with hammer union 2" 1502.
2-connect test unit in hammer union valve (6) to test it then open valve number (6).
3-Close the vale number (1+5+3+8).test it by low test 250 psi and high pressure 3500
psi.(5 -10 minutes).then Bleed-off the test unit.
4- Close the vale number (1+5+8+11). and open valve number 3 to test mud
pump No.1 valve number (11).tested by low pressure test and high pressure test.
5- Close the vale number (1+5+8+13). and open valve number (11+3) to test valve
number (13).
6- connect test unit in homemade plug union for standpipe valve number (1).its
closed to test it for by stream
7-connect test unit in standpipe valve number (7) its open.
8-close valve number (2+4+5+9) to test it by low test and high test.
9- close valve number (2+5+9+10) open valve (NO.4) to test mud pump NO.2 valve
number 10 test it by (250-500)psi low pressure and 2400psi for high pressure.
10-close valve number (2+5+9+10+12) and open valve number (10+4) to test valve
number (12).
11- Connect test unit in homemade plug union for standpipe valve number (2) its
closed to test it low and high pressure.
When you finish Bleed-off pressure.
Note: If any of the above steps fails or/and for any reason corrective actions are required on the
equipment during the test procedure, ensure that all control pressure is bled-off to "0" psi by
following the procedure below.
Bleed-off the pressure
