INSTRUCTIONS

• The presentations, which are expected to last approximately 8-10 minutes, should imitate what would be
done in real practice, i.e. be understandable, interesting, relevant and well-prepared. They should also
include preparation for potential questions by customers: imagine what you would ask if you were travelling
yourself. Do not use vocabulary if you do not know what it means.
• You are expected to use a Powerpoint presentation (see below) or images. If you use notes on paper, the
notes may only include dates and proper names. Reading will not be allowed, and if reading is detected, the
presentation will stop there and then. This also affects the Powerpoint presentation itself, which may not
contain so much text that the student simply reads from the screen. For guidelines on how to prepare a
good Powerpoint presentation, please, use the Internet.
• Students are supposed to prepare the presentations carefully: this includes looking up the proper
vocabulary, documenting themselves, not making spelling or grammatical mistakes in the presentation and
looking up and practising the correct pronunciation of any vocabulary (both general and specialized). Not
doing so creates an impression of sloppiness and not preparing your job carefully, and will be heavily
penalized.
• It is not allowed to memorize existing material; you should prepare your own. If it is detected that a
presentation has been literally taken, in whole or in part, from another source, it will be considered
plagiarism and, according to the University rules, this will lead to a lower mark.
