You have been asked by your English teacher to write a leaflet for younger students
about how to write a good short story. The leaflet should include the following
information:
- how to come up with a good plot;
- how to create an interesting character;
- how to make the story exciting to read.

friend. You are an experienced debater, and you can provide him with advice to
help him with his nerves.

8. Learning English through workplace communication

A new restaurant has opened in your local area, and you went with your friends to
visit it. Write a blog post describing your experience and reviewing the restaurant
for other people who may want to visit.

9. Learning English through social issues

“It is better to volunteer your time to charities than to donate your money to
them.”

Write an essay giving your opinion on this statement.
