I. Analysis of the attitude of female participants regarding gender Based Violence

Fig. 1 Age of the respondents

The results showed that out of 15 respondents there are only 2 females aging 10-29
years old answered the survey questionnaire. While female ranging in the age of 20-29 are
the most respondents of this study. Aging 30-39 years old and 40-49 years are the same.
There are also 3 female ranging in age of 50-59 answer the survey questionnaire. While
there are only 1 respondent ranging in the age of 70-79 years old.

Results showed that all the participants had attended proper schooling.

Results showed that mostly of the participants are single, thus out of 15 respondents
there are 6 females who are already married. While 2 of the female respondents are already
widowed.

Results showed that mostly of the participants have no occupation, some of the
participants was students while several is just have no occupation. While 4 out of 15
participants are housewife. 2 are assistants which are cook assistant and dentist assistant.
There are only one teacher and factory worker.

The results showed that most of the participants are already married, thus almost half
of the participants are not married but already living in marital relationship. While few of the
participants never experienced to live in marital relationship.

Results showed that mostly of the respondents didn’t answer the question.

The results showed that most of the participants again did not answer the question.
While some of the participants said that their last relationship last for 2 years, 8 years and 19
years.

Results showed that mostly of the participants did not answer the question
again. Thus some answer that their marital relationship is been existed for 1 year and 6
years while two of the participants answered that their marital relationship is been existed for
19 years.

The results showed that 12 participants or mostly of the participant is living in the
same house with their spouse/partner. While three of the participants never experienced to
live in marital relationship.

The results showed that most of the spouse of the participants successfully
completed general secondary education. Spouse of 3 participants completed primary
education. While one the participant did not answer the question.

The results showed that mostly of the participants answered no when they asked if
they throw or break objects with their spouse. 2 participants answered that they were only
the one who throw objects to their spouse during last 12 months. While one of the participant
answered that they are both experience throwing object with each other during the last
twelve months. Thus one of the participant did not answered the question.

The results showed that most of the participants never experience to be confronted
by alcoholism relatives during the last 12 months. While 3 of the participants experienced to
be confronted alcoholism by their relatives.

The results showed that most of the participants never experienced to encounter
problem related to drug abuse from one of their relatives. While one of the participants
answered that he/she experienced to encounter problem related to drug abuse from one of
their relatives

The results showed that the number of participants that go out alone in the evening
to join friends and family last month is greater than the number of participants who did not go
out alone in the evening to join friends and family.

Compared to fig. 14, most of the participants did not go out to watch a movie or show
last month.

Results showed that there have a great difference between the participants who did
not go out alone and to the participants who go out alone to a bar or restaurant.

The results showed that most of the participants did not experience to go out alone in
the evening to attend association, trade union, political or sports meeting last month.

streets. Three of the participants avoid using some streets, visiting areas during daytime.
While two of the participants generally avoid using some streets, visiting areas during day

Results showed that almost half of the participants confide to their spouse and friend
when they have personal problem. Others answered they also confide to their family
members. While 4 of the participants chose to confide to their friends when they have
personal problem. While one of the participants did not want confide to someone when she
have a personal problem. She chose to keep and solved it with herself.

Results showed that during the last 12 months, almost half of the participants
experience sometimes to shouted or hurled insults someone when they’re angry. 3
participants answered often and 1 of the participant answered seldom. While 1 of the
participants answered he/she never experience to shouted loudly or hurled insults
someone when angry.

Results showed that during the last 12 months, most of the participants never
experience to slapped or beaten an adult. While few of the participants experience to
slapped and beaten an adult sometimes and seldom.

experience to slapped or beaten an adult. While 3 out of the respondents experience
to beaten or slapped an adult.

The results show that most of the participant’s religion is Catholic. One participant
religion is Born Again. While two participants have no religion.

The results showed that mostly of the participants set religion as very important part
of their life. 2 out of all the participants answered religion is important part of their life.
One of the participants answered that religion is not at all important part of their life.
While two of the participants refused to answered the question.

The results showed that almost all of the participants didn’t experience to suffer from
material deprivation. While one of the participants suffered from material deprivation.

The results showed that all of the participants are legal child or not adopted except

Results showed that most of the participants did not experience any serious conflict
with their parents during their childhood or teenage years. While 4 of the participants
experience serious conflict with parents during their childhood and teenage years.

Results showed that most of the participants did not notice any serious tensions
between their parents during their childhood/teenage.

Results showed that most of the female participants are attracted to men only. There
are also participants who answered she is mainly attracted to men but also to women and as
much as to women. While one of our participants is lesbian.

Results showed that most of the participants had already sexual intercourse except
for the two who have not experience of it.

The results showed that 6 out of 15 female respondents, encounter first sexual
intercourse at the age of 15-2o years old. While 5 out of 15 female participants encounter
first sexual intercourse at the age of 25-29 years old which for them is the right age for it.
Hence, two of the participants encounter first sexual intercourse at the age of 20 years old
and 14 years old.

Results showed that the 7 participant’s partner during their first encounter is older
than them. 4 participants partner at first encounter is younger than them. While 2 of the
participants answered they were at the same age.

Results show that all most of the participants first intercourse are the one that they
longed for that time. Except for the one participant who answered she did not want but chose
to accept it.

Results showed 10 out of 15 female respondent first partner in their first sexual
encounter is their spouse/future spouse. While 3 out of 15 were persons someone they just
in love with (ex/other than spouse).
PUBLIC SPACE

II. Analysis of the female participants experience harassment in the public places.

Results showed that most of the participants have never been experience to be
insulted by some on street, public transport or public space during the last twelve months.
While 2 of the participants said they experience it once and 2-3 times.

Results showed that all most of the participants did not experience to persistently
follow by someone. While 3 of the participants said they already experienced to be followed
by someone.

Follow up question of fig. 3, the results showed that 2 out of 3 participants experience
to be followed by different persons. While the 1 out of 3 participants experience to be
followed by only one person.

Also a follow up question of fig. 3, results showed that 2 out of 3 participants


experienced to be followed by people they knew. While one of the participants experienced
to be followed by persons who is totally unknown to tem.

Results showed that out of all participants, 5 females has experienced someone that
exhibited their sexual organs to them. While the rest did not experience it.

Follow up questions of fig. 5, results showed that the person who exhibited their
sexual organs to the 5 participants are people that they knew.

Results showed that during last 12 months, out of all the participants there are only
one female participant who experience robbery in public places.

Results showed that during last 12 months, only two participants experience sexual
harassment.

As a follow question number of figure 8, only two participants answered yes that it
was the same person who harassed them.

Follow up questions of figure 8, results showed that out of all participants, 1


participant answered that the person who harassed her is totally unknown to her while the
other 1 participant that the person who harassed her is familiar to her.

Results showed that 14 participants didn’t experience force sexual touching and
sexual intercourse while one of the participant experienced force sexual intercourse.

Follow up questions on figure 11, the participant experienced it once.

Also a follow up question of figure 11, participant experienced an attempt to force her
in sexual intercourse.

The results showed that the attempt of forced sexual intercourse didn’t occur
simultaneously.

The results showed that only 1 participant experienced it once.

As a follow up question on figure 15, the 1 participant states that it wasn’t the same person
who forced her to perform sexual touching.

forced her to perform sexual touching.

The results showed that most of the participants did not experience such acts while 1
participant found the question too confidential to answer.

The result showed that all the participant did not experience to engage to unsuccessful

The results showed that 3 participants experienced insults and being followed. While
2 participant experience sexual touching and 1 participant experience robbery, exhibitionism,
forced kiss or groped and forced sexual intercourse. 3 participant did not experience any of

The results showed the most serious incidents for the participants is being insulted.
While 2 participants of the participants answered that the most serious incidents for them is
the sexual touching.

III. Analysis of life of female participants in marital situation during the last 12 months.

The results showed that 6 participants never experience it with their husband. 5 participants
experienced it sometimes. While 1 of the participants answered they experienced it often
and the rest did not answer the question because they don’t have husband/spouse.

The results showed that 10 of the participants never experience it. While 1 participant stated
that they experienced it often and sometimes and the rest did not answer the question
because they don’t have husband/spouse.

The results showed that 10 participants stated that it never happen to them. 1 of the
participant stated that it happened to them often and sometimes. While the rest did not
answer the question because they don’t have husband/spouse.

The results showed that 10 participants stated that it never happen to them. While 1 of the
participants stated that it happened to them seldom and sometimes. The rest did not answer

participants experienced it seldom, often and systematically. The rest did not answer the

The results showed that the most occurred incidents that happened in most of the
participants is forbidden to have social relationship.

FAMILY AND RELATIVES

IV. Analysis about the harassment experienced by the participants on their family and
relatives.

The results showed that most of the participants stated that it never happen to them. While 3
participants experienced it once.

As a follow up question on figure 1, the results showed that 2 participants experienced to be


insulted or abused by their different relatives. While 1 participant experienced to be insulted
or abused by one person/relative.

As a follow up question on figure 1, the results showed that 1 participant experienced to be


insulted by other men from among the close relatives, while the others is man among the
relatives and the other one experienced to be insulted by her brother.

1 participant experienced it between 4 and 10 times.

As a follow up question on figure 4, the results showed that 1 participant say that it wasn’t

As a follow up question on figure 9, the results showed that the participants experienced
confinement/false imprisonment always with a same person.

As a follow up question the results showed that 1 of the participants experienced


confinement with their mother while 2 of the participants chose to not answer the question

We went to the barangay hall of Captain C. Nazareno to inform her that we will
conduct an interview in their barangay. She is the secretary that we asked for the consent.
We are reminded not to interview in large houses because the residents live in it are
sometimes questionable when it comes to surveying.

First Day of Interview (October 30,2019)


She was the first person that we interviewed.
She didn’t hesitate to answer our questions.

We
interviewed the
youngest participant
of our Gender Based
Violence survey.

Second Day of Interview (November 04, 2019)


She agreed to interview on our
survey.

In this participant, she did not agreed


to take a picture but she gave an advised on
conducting an interview because we said it
was difficult to interview because we were
told not to interview in large houses.
Third Day of Interview (November 6, 2019)

She is our first participant on our second day. Even though the participant hesitates
This participant took so long to answer some of our to answer the question, she still answered it
question. even though she find it confidential.
Fourth Day of Interview (November 08, 2019)

This participant is willing to answer for our survey.

The rest of the participants didn’t allow to take photos for their privacy.
