BIOGRAPHY MR. MUSTHOFA

Musthofa Dahlan, or often called Mr. Musthofa, is one of the teachers at

SMAN 1 Genteng. So far there are 64 teachers who teach at SMAN 1 Genteng
and 5 are supposed to represent English teachers and Mr. Musthofa is one of
them. His fellow English teachers are Mrs. Sulis, Mrs. Wahyu, Mr. Eko, and Mrs.
Denok. Although he is no longer young, but he is as competent as the others.
Mr. Musthofa was born in Jenisari, Genteng, Banyuwangi on November
20th, 1962. He have ten siblings, five sisters and five brothers and he is the
youngest son. His father's name is H. Ahmad Dahlan and his mother's name is Hj.
Sofiya. His father job is a farmer and seller of agricultural products like corn, rice
and other. And his mother as a housewife. His father gave him the name Musthofa
because it was another name for the Prophet Muhammad SAW who certainly had
a good meaning.
Mr. Musthofa's educational history is when he was 6 years old, he went
to elementary school at MI Nurul Huda Jenisari. He did not go to kindergarten
because there was no kindergarten in his village at that time. So he went straight
to elementary school. But he only went to school for 5 years at MI then took a
national exam and he passed. When he wanted to enroll in middle school it turned
out that his age was not enough, so he went back to school at Elementary School 5
Genteng. And so he got 2 certificates from elementary school. And when he was
11 years old, his father passed away. Therefore he does everything himself,
including when he enrolls in SMPN 1 Genteng. Apparently he was not accepted
there, so he met the principal and begged to be able to go to school there. Then
with some consideration, finally the school principal allowed him to go to school
at SMPN 1 Genteng. Even though his life has many problems, but he never
complained about that because he believed that everything happened to him, God
have best plan for him. He believes there must be wisdom to it all. Without
protracted in sadness he chose to live like water that continues to flow. Even
during his junior high school, he experienced the most embarrassing and
unforgettable event in his life. He had been sentenced to run around the school 7
times and had to take off his clothes during the ceremony because he did not wear
the complete attributes according to school regulations. It is truly not forgotten,
until now he still remembers it. After graduating from junior high school, he
continued his study at SMAN 1 Genteng.
After graduating from senior high school, he continued studying at
university. He actually aspires to be an architect because he likes to draw. But he
could not realize these goals because of financial problem. Finally he chose to
study at Jember University and majored in English Literature. He chose English
Literature because English is an international language which is the most
important language and must be mastered by people around the world. After
completing his Bachelor's degree he continued to pursue a Masters in the same
department but at a different University in Malang namely Islamic University of
Malang. After graduating he went to Australia to join in the Cesol Program which
learn about learning methods for 3 years.
After completing his studies, he worked at Roxy Shoes Company as
marketing for 6 years. Because at that time Roxy no longer exported goods, then
she switched professions to become an English teacher since 1997 until 2000 in
SMAN 1 Genteng and then taught at SMK 1 Glagah at 2000 until 2004, then
moved to teach in SMK Kalibaru for 10 years that is 2004 until 2014. And finally
in 2014 he was assigned to teach at SMAN 1 Genteng until now.
On February, 4th 1991, Mr. Musthofa married with Mrs. Siti Halimah.
His wife is a teacher at TPQ and a religious teacher. From this marriage Mr.
Musthofa was blessed with 5 children. The first child was named Muhammad
Iqbal. He is the most handsome child in this family because he is the only son that
Mr. Musthofa have. He is a graduate of the ITS architectural faculty and now
works in Yogyakarta as a designer. Then her second child was named Aulia
Safitri. He was named Fitri because he was born on the 3rd day of Eid. He now
attends IAII Darussalam Blockagung. Then her third child was named Miratus
Sholehah. He in semester 2 of IAII Darussalam majored in English education just
like his father. He is a memorizer of the Qur'an. Then his fourth child was named
Warisa Bilqis. He is in grade 3 of SMP Darussalam and is also a memorizer of the
Qur'an. And his last child named Aidza Ramadhani who was born on the 4th day
of Ramadan was a Hafidz Qur'an who memorized 6 juz in the Qur'an. He is a
grade 6 at MI Nurul Huda Jenisari. All Mr. Musthofa's children are indeed
directed to go to Islamic schools because according to Mr. Musthofa, religious
education is very important and must be instilled early on to his children.
