SUBJECT: Division Training - Workshops on Campus Journalism

DATE: August 28, 2018

This office announces the conduct of the Division Series of Training-


Workshops on Campus Journalism, on September 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, and
October 6, 13, and 20, 2018, total of 8 Saturdays from 8AM to 5PM at Bernardo
Lirio Memorial Central School, Darasa, Tanauan City.

This training is pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act 7079, otherwise


known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, which mandates DepEd to provide
training programs/seminars for teacher-advisers and campus journalists, and in
preparation for the Regional Schools Press Conference on November 5-9, 2018.

The training aims to enhance the journalistic skills of Campus Journalists


(CJs) in the following categories; Editorial Writing, Feature Writing, News Writing,
Sports Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Photojournalism, Science and Technology
Writing, Copy Reading and Headline Writing, Radio Broadcasting, Collaborative
Desktop Publishing and TV Broadcasting (for secondary level).The participants
are expected to come up with quality journalistic outputs as evidences of their
competence.
The participants to these training-workshops are the CJs, who ranked 1 st to
th
5 in the individual categories, English and Filipino, Elementary and Secondary,
the top 1 group in the three group Categories, and the 60 Potential School Paper
Advisers who will act as Facilitators/Trainers in each of the categories.

No registration fee for the said training. Participants are required to bring
their packed-snacks (AM and PM) and Lunch.
Enclosed is a list of facilitators/trainers during the duration of the training.
Campus Journalist-participants are enlisted in the Division Bulletin on the
Official Results of the 2018 Division Schools Press Conference.
A 100% attendance of all concerned is highly expected.
Immediate and wide dissemination of this memorandum is desired.

All DASPA Officers shall act as the Technical Working Group in the whole duration of the trainings, to
be headed by Dr. Michael Enriquez Cacao, DASPA President.

All District Coordinators for English and Filipino are the overseers of the training.
