1. Scope of the Delivery

This document contains release notes for the major release of S1 Agile V1.4.1 (Build 012 – 18.9.10.0).

2. Purpose of the Release

The purpose of this installer is to incorporate enhancements and defect fixes on S1 Agile 1.4 (Official Internal
Release). It also includes the changes related to Hotfix 1 for S1 Agile 1.3.1 (Last Official Release). The
enhancements and the defects fixed on this release are listed in MaFS Document.

Enhancements:
 5834 - GE re-branding on MiCOM S1 Agile Backend Access Tool v1.3 (Not part of S1 Agile)
 5828 - Concurrent Protocol implementation with DNP3oE and IEC 61850 for P40 Agile
 5826 - Installation and Uninstallation Issues on S1 Agile 1.4 - B007
 5825 - Fault Locator Issues on V1.0 (S1 Agile 1.4 - B007)
 5816 - MAC address filtering for REB Configurator
 5770 - GS-01408169 Can S1 be packaged?
 5844 - Rename REB Configurator as Redundant Ethernet Configurator
 5843 - Fault Locator Issues on V1.0 (S1 Agile 1.4.1 - B011)

Bug fixes: (Mingle)

 5835 - MiCOM S1 Agile is crashing, when we load corrupted DNP Files
 5829 - USB Flag setting to ignore HW Serial Number in earlier versions of Windows 10.
 5795 - Settings file comparison failing to detect changed settings
 5794 - P40 Agile text editor doesn’t allow downloading languages apart from language 1 to Px4x relays
 5412 - When a PSL file is saved as group 4, it comes back up as group 0 when attempting to Save as
 5247 - "Copy" button doesn't copy anything
 4891 - The Psl editor cannot send the big psl to the P141 relay

The following defects are also included in this release as a part of Hotfix 1 on S1 Agile 1.3.1.

 5797 - If Root LD name is edited, the modification is not seen in all placed when SCL is exported

12. Installation requirements
Requirements

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 and 10

Pre-Installation:
(1) Uninstall the existing MiCOM S1 Agile 1.3.1 and Hot fix 1 for V1.3.1 manually and Make sure the files are totally
removed from Installation Folder (...\Alstom Grid\Micom S1 Agile), if any. While performing 1.4.1 installation, the
setup will abort the installer, if the previous version is detected as 1.3.1 or older.
For S1 Agile 1.3.1 or older versions, the installation will be aborted with following message: S1 Agile 1.3.1 or
older version is already installed on the system.\nPlease uninstall it and run setup again.
(2) If S1 Agile 1.4 version is installed, the user can repair the installation with this version of S1 Agile Installer 1.4.1.
Post Installation: Manual restart is necessary to complete the installtion.

Installation
a. Make sure the requirements are satisfied.
b. Uninstall the previous version of S1 Agile, if any. This is a recommended step, refer Pre-Installation for more
information.
c. Run the installer (MiCOM S1 Agile Installer B012.exe) with admin privileges.
Note: Right click the SETUP and run the same as administrator.
d. Trust the publisher “UK Grid Solutions Limited” to proceed further.
e. Select the Language for installtion from Chinese (Simplified), English (US), French (Standard), German, Italian, Polish,
Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian and Spanish.

f. Click “Next” in the welcome window.

g. Accept the Terms of Agreement and click “Next” in the License/information window.

h. Select the Mode of installation from this window.
a. Express Mode: Default programs, features and language (English) will be installed.
b. Custom Mode: User can select additional languages and is recommended for advanced users.
Note: If the express mode of installtion is selected, the installation directly goto Review Window (Step m).

i. Provide User and Organization name in the next window and click “Next”.

j. Click “Next” in the Installer Path window, if you are fine with default path i.e ...\GE\MiCOM S1 Agile, Else browse the
path by clicking “Change”.

k. Select the tools and Language from the options window.

l. User Group setup window appears with current user details.
a. Add/Remove users to “MiCOM S1 Agile Users” group, if necessary.
b. This can also be managed through “Local Users and Group” in future.

m. Click “Next” on the review window, if you are fine with changes of installation. Note: If the express mode of installtion
is selected, the installation directly goto Finish Window (Step p) and Installation may take a 10-15 minutes.

n. Create shortcut using Additional Options window.

o. Migrate all the existing System (*.agsys) and Datamodels from Alstom Folders (..\Documents\AG S1 Agile and
..\ProgramData\Alstom Grid\MiCOM S1 Agile\DataModels), if S1 Agile 1.3.1 or older version is uninstalled.
Note: This step is disabled, if there are no System (*.agsys) and Datamodels exist in Alstom Folders.

 p. Close the setup by clicking “Finish”.

q. Verify that the new version of S1 Agile or its associated tools is present in the Installation Folder, after the restart.
Note: Manual restart is necessary to complete the installation.

Silent Mode Installation (For IT)

To support IT to install the S1 Agile in silent mode or background, the ISS file is created and attched in the
deliverables.
a. Open the Command Prompt with administrator priveleges.
b. Issue the command <“Setup.exe” /s /f1Setup.iss> in command prompt as follows:

Command Prompt>“MiCOM S1 Agile Installer B012.exe” /s /f1MiCOM_S1_Agile_Installer_B012.iss

Note 1: Pre-Installation requirements are applicable this mode of installation as well.

Note 2: Provide full path for both EXE and ISS Files in the above command.
Note 3: There should be no space left in between /f1 and path of *.iss file.
Note 4. After successful installation, user need to perform a manual restart of PC to ensure proper functionality of
S1 Agile.

Uninstallation
a. Run the installer (MiCOM S1 Agile Installer B012.exe) with admin privileges.
b. Select “Remove” to uninstall the feature and click “Next” to proceed with re-installation.
Note: Uninstallation may take a 10-15 Minutes.
c. Verify that the files are totally removed from Installation Folder: ...\GE\MiCOM S1 Agile
d. Close the window.

Maintenance or Upgrade
(Only applicable to S1 Agile 1.4 onwards)
a. Run the installer (MiCOM S1 Agile Installer B012.exe) with admin privileges.
b. Select either “Repair” or “Modify” from the next window.
a. Modify: Customize the installation by adding or removing the features and click “Next” on the review window, if
you are fine with changes of installation.
b. Repair: Re-install all the features and whole installation and click “Next” to proceed with re-installation.
Note: Repairing may take a 10-15 MInutes.

c. Close the window by clicking “Finish”.

 d. Verify that the new version of S1 Agile or its associated tools is present in the Installation Folder.
Note: Manual restart is necessary to complete the installation.

Troubleshooting
a. Perform Clean installation of S1 Agile 1.4 or newer by uninstalling older versions of S1 Agile 1.3.1 or older.
b. For S1 Agile 1.3.1 or older, manually delete the files from Installation Folder (...\Alstom Grid\ MiCOM S1 Agile OR ...\GE\
MiCOM S1 Agile), if any failure occurs, before the next attempt.
c. Any issues in installation, uninstallation and repairing, may be due to privileges. So, make sure the SETUP was run with
admin privileges.
d. If either installation or uninstllation fails, kill the following process and clean the Installation Folder (...\Alstom Grid\
MiCOM S1 Agile OR ...\GE\ MiCOM S1 Agile).
a. MiCOM S1 Agile Installer BXXX (Description: Neo)
b. Setup.exe (Description: Neo)
c. ISBEW64 (Description: Installshield (R) 64 Bit Setup Engine)
d. Any MSI Installer (msiexec.exe)
e. From S1 Agile 1.4 onwards, upgrade is compatible with S1 Agile 1.4.1 or newer versions. This is not possible with S1
Agile 1.3.1 or older versions.
