SOP for student presentation

Level/Term: BASIC
STAGE Procedure
SET UP Week 1
Day1
1. Introduce the syllabus outline each of the four weeks and the
output after the students have completed their study for a
month.
2. Introduce the project of presentation as part of the
assessment to continue to the next term/level.
3. Briefly explain the marking criteria and the minimum grade
students must get in order to pass.
The marking criteria are listed below:
 Opening: material preparation
 Structuring: Appearance, Confidence, Body Language,
Delivery.
 Language Production: Phrases of presentation,
Grammar Accuracy, Vocabulary, Pronunciation
Day 2
1. Distribute the topics to students and ask them to choose 1 of
their preference to deliver on the scheduled time. The
chosen topic is submitted by the end of the class that day.
2. Distribute:
 General Language of presentations/sentence starters
(e.g. starting, linking words, ending, responding to
questions, and so on.)
 New words, phrases, useful languages related to the
topic.
3. Schedule the assistance for students with their preparation.
4. Schedule the presentation 1 student/day. The presentation
starts by the 2nd week (meeting 6).
Day 3-5
1. Assist the students with their preparation.
Running Day 6-18
1. If the presentation is provided on paper, teacher should
collect the paper to be corrected, and the next day, return it
completely with correction notes or suggestion of which
grammar topics to improve.
2. 1 student delivers a presentation for ± 10 mns. Teacher takes
notes on the mistakes and provides feedback.
3. Give chance for the audience to ask questions (5 mns
questioning session).
4. Teacher takes turn for corrections on grammar,
pronunciation, language appropriacy and other critical
errors.
Post-presentation Remedial presentation
1. A remedial presentation should be provided for those who
do not meet the minimum grade on the first chance.
2. Students who still do not pass after given the second chance
should not be allowed to go on to the next term.
