Since you will choose the colors combination that you want, we will name the main color, A, the
diamond's color turquoise B, and the Mint Color, C.

Let’s start with the Yoke

Ch 72 (88, 104) and sl st to join the chain.

• I made the collar at the end, but if you want you can start with the collar first. 2 rounds in
puff st with color A, 1 round color B, 1 round color C, 4 rounds color A.

About the Design

This Diamonds Puff Sweater is worked top down with the Raglan technique.
Starting from the neck, we will work in rounds. First the yoke and then split the body of the
sweater from the sleeves and work these 3 parts individually.

The pattern is written in US (continental) terms and is available for sizes S, M and L.
The Diamonds Puff Sweater has a closer fit, only 2 cm positive ease, without stretching the
work.

About the puff stitch

The Diamonds Puff Sweater is worked in Puff Stitch.
The puff stitch is a stitch in the cluster stitches category. Meaning that we will do a group of
stitches to obtain the puff look.
[Yarn over, insert the hook through the stitch, yarn over pull out a loop] repeat 2 times. If you
want you can repeat 3 times if you are working with a thinner yarn. Then yarn over and pull the
yarn through all loops on your hook.
The stitch chart for the sweater is in the image bellow. In this chart is only a part of the yoke with
the first set of diamonds.

Round 1

With color A

Ch 1, 1 puff in the same st [ch1, skip 1, 1 puff in next]. Repeat the section until you have
5 (6 , 7) puff stitches. Ch 1, skip 1, 1 inc in the next st.

Continue working the sleeve, [ch1, skip 1, 1 puff in next]. Reapeat the section until you
have 6 (8, 10) puff stitches. Ch 1, skip 1, 1 inc in the next.

Now, working the front [ch1, skip 1, 1 puff in next].

Repeat the section between [ ] until you have 10 (12, 14) puff stitches. Ch 1, skip 1, 1
inc in the next.

Now repeat the section for the sleeve.

After the last increase, finish the round, working 5(6, 7) more puff stitches to complete
the back side.

Finish the round with 1 puff st in the st before the last one, ch 1, skip the last stitch and
join with the 1st puff.

Round 2-3 ( 2- 5, 2-7)

Repeat round 1.

Round 4 (6, 8)

The next 9 rounds will be the same for all sizes, the only difference being that we will
have more stitches on each section with each size and the round will start a little bit
different.

To be sure with which color you will have to start, count from the stitch before the inc.
This one has to be in color B. Then count back, 3 puffs with A, 1 puff with B and so on
until you get to the starting stitch.

Size S - Start with 1 puff with color B in the first ch 1 space

Size M - Start with 3 puff sts with color A in the first 3 ch 1 spaces.

Size L - same as Size S.

The pattern for this round will be 1 puff stitch with color, B, 3 puffs with color A and
repeat until the first corner (the ch 3 from the previous round inc). In the corner, change
to color A and make the inc. Then change to color B and repeat the pattern 1 puff with
B, 3 puffs with A until you get to the next corner.

Work like this for the entire round.

Finish the round with

Size S - 3 puff sts with A

Size M - 1 puff with B

Size L - same as size S

Round 5 (7, 9)

Size S - start the round with 1 puff with color B in the first ch 1 space, 2 puffs with A in
the next 2 spaces.

Size M - start the round with 2 puff sts with color A in the first 2 ch 1 spaces.

Size L - Same as size S

Continue with 2 puffs with B, 2 puffs with A until you get to the corner. In the corner
increase and then continue working the same to the end of the round.

Rounds 13 - 19 ( 15 -21, 17-23)

1 puff stitch with A in each space to the corner. Increase in corner and continue with 1
puff in each stitch to the next corner. Work in the same way to the end of the round.

The Body

The stitch chart for the body is in the image below.

We will start to count the rounds again from 1.

The pattern for the body of the Diamonds Puff Sweater is the same for all sizes, only different
number of stitches.
Let's begin
Round 1
The separating round
We are working in the main color, color A
1 puff in each space to the corner, 1 puff in the corner, skip the stitches for the sleeve and make
1 puff in the next corner. Continue with one puff in each space until you get to the next corner

and here proceed the same way, 1 puff stitch in the corner; skip the sts for the sleeve, one puff
stitch in the last corner.

Then continue working 1 puff in each space to the end of the round. Sl st.
At the end of this round you should have in total for the body of the Diamonds Puff Sweater 60
(68, 76) puff stitches.
If not, is not a problem. On the next round you can adjust the number of puffs by adding more.
You can increase by making more puff stitches in the same space at the armpit
(where you made the join)
Remember that for the next section of diamonds you will need a multiple of 4 puff stitches.

Round 2
This will be the round in which you will adjust the number of puff stitches to have multiple of 4.
According to my pattern you should have a multiple of 4, so on this round just make 1 puff stitch
in each space around.

Round 3
We will start making the second set of Diamonds. Because we don't have to increase anymore
the rounds will be a little different from the yoke part, but I'm sure that after making the yoke this
part of the Diamonds Puff Sweater will be so easy for you.
We will work now with color A and C.
Join color C
1 sc in the 1st ch 1 space, 1 puff with color C in the same space,[ ch 1 with color A, 1 puff with
color A in the next 3 ch 1 spaces. Ch 1 with color C, 1 puff with color C in the next space].
Repeat the section between [ ] to the end of the round, alternating 3 puffs with color A, one with
color C to the end of the round.
The round will end with 3 puffs in color A, ch 1 with color C and sl st with the 1st puff.

Round 4

1 puff stitch with color A in each ch 1 space.
If you want to adjust the length of the sweater just add or make less rounds on the section after
the second set of diamonds.
Sleeves
We will make 2
The sleeves will be worked in the same way and with the same pattern as the body, at least
until we finish the second set of diamonds.
We will start from the armpit. Insert the yarn and hook in one ch 1 space from the armpit.
Remember on the body, before we started the diamonds, we made 2 rounds in color A, one the
separating round and one more.
Well, we will start the sleeves the same way.

Rounds 1
1 puff stitch with color A in each ch 1 space.

Round 2
On this round we will have to count the puff stitches that you have and to adjust the number of
puff stitches to have a multiple of 4. Make the increase (2 puff stitches in the same ch 1 space)
at the armpit.

Starting with round 3 we will start to make the diamonds and for 9 rounds just repeat the pattern
you used for the body, meaning you will repeat round 3-11 from the body section.

Ok, now that you finished the diamonds we can start to work on the length of the sleeve.
I choose a 3/4 length, but you can make it longer if you want.
To make the sleeve as I did, after the diamonds, work with color A more rounds with 1 puff stitch
in each ch 1 space.

*the picture above is for a child size

If you want to have a longer sleeve you can follow the same pattern as for the body.
After you are done with the length, we will work 2 more rounds to just make the sleeve more
tight.
We will decrease on the first of the 2 rounds by working 2 single crochet together all around.
On the next round we will work 1 decrease ( 2 single crochet together) and 1 single crochet in
the next stitch. Repeat all around.
And one sleeve is done. Repeat the same with the second one.

Collar
The collar is not mandatory and again, you can make it as you wish. I made 8 rounds.
First 4 rounds worked with color A, then 1 round with color B, 1 round with color C and 2 more
rounds with color A.
