The heart is a muscular organ in humans that functions to pump blood through blood
vessels in the human blood circulation system.

2. Heart Function

The function of the heart is vital because the heart keeps the blood flowing and carries
oxygen and food extracts into every cell of the body.

3. Types Of Heart Disease


1. Coronary Artery Disease
This is the most common type of heart disease, where arterial walls thicken due to
fat accumulation. This condition inhibits the amount of blood entering the heart and
increases blood pressure.

2. Trachycardia
Trachycardia is basically a medical term for an increase in heart rate. Palpitations
and high heart rates can be caused by several reasons such as smoking, alcohol and
stress.

3. Heart Muscle Disease


Sometimes, the heart muscles can also weaken. In this case, the function of the
heart muscles will slow down so that it is unable to pump enough blood for the
body.

4. Heart Valve Disease


The heart has 4 valves. If one or more heart valves do not work properly, you can
experience a stroke or angina.

5. Bradikardi
Bradycardia is a medical term for a slow heart rate. This happens when the heart
muscles are tired. A pacemaker mounted on the heart can re-trigger a weakened
heart rate.

6. Heart failure
Heart failure often occurs when the heart cannot pump blood and stops working.
This can happen when someone loses a lot of blood, is shocked or even due to lung
disorders.

7. Congenital Heart Disease


Some babies are born with a weak heart or a hole in their heart. This condition can
be corrected by surgery, but it is not always successful.

8. Cerebrovascular disorders
The occurrence of obstacles in the blood circulation from the heart to the brain, the
condition is called cerebrovascular disease. This type of heart disease is very
dangerous because it can cause strokes in the brain.

9. Angina
Angina is a medical term that describes pain and tightness around the chest. This is
because your chest does not get enough oxygen. This condition is most often caused
by a small blockage in the heart or coronary arteries.

10. Rheumatic Heart Disease


A certain type of bacterial infection in childhood can cause affecting the heart joints
and valves. Heart problems begin to appear in adulthood. The only medication is
often heart valve replacement with the help of surgery.

11. Atherosclerosis
Atherosclerosis is hardening of the arteries. The arteries often harden due to the
presence of plague deposits, poisons and fat. This can cause an increase in blood
pressure and heart stroke.
