ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Above all, the researchers acknowledged God in giving the gift of life, blessings, intellect,
time, strength and people whom the researchers worked with to finish their study. The
researchers would like to express their deepest gratitude to those people who helped
them throughout the study. The researchers will never forget the following people who
guides and offered their prayers for the completion of this study.
To ourfriends, classmates and to everyone who helped us in their own little but
significant ways.
Most of all, To Almighty God, who gave us strength and knowledge to make all of
this possible and successful.

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Books and Student maintenance module are also included in this system which
would keep track of the student using the library and also a detailed description about the
books a library contains. With this computerized system there will be no loss book record
or member record which generally happens when a non-computerized system is used. In
addition, report module is also included in Library Management System. If user’s position
is admin, the user is able to generate different kind of reports like list of students, list of
books, issue and return report.
4
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
The project aims and objectives that will be achieved after the completion of
this project are discusses in this chapter. The aim and objective are as follows:
Proposed ways for the solution of the identified books that been
borrowed and return using the present system.
Student login where student can find book issued by him/her and date
of return.
A search availability of books
To helps not just the library staff but also make it easier for library
user to get information quickly promotes time saving transaction for
the user.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE
5
SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
SCOPE
The said system that the programmers will create is about the development
of the Library.
LIMITATION
The researchers limit the system only inside the vicinity of PATTS College
of Aeronautics’ Library. Moreover, the study will not address any concern
regarding on the payment of the overdue book.
Furthermore, the researcher limit their library system only in the MS Excel
and will not use any software and make benefit of the internet. Moreover, the
researchers decided to make use only the functions of Microsoft Excel.

CHAPTER II
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The school libraries department uses manual system. The student and
faculties one-by-one looking at bookshelves. The process is time consuming. The
project system describe will help to improve the system or generate all the report
in a minimum amount of time and minimizes the used of paper in logging the book
that been borrow and return at the currents system. The system will lessened their
time in borrowing books. Lastly, it considered beneficial to the school library
system, library officials, and students and for additional information to future
researchers.
Subsequently, this system will lessen manual work and gives a smooth flow
of library activities while reducing the chance of mistakes.

DATA FLOW DIAGRAM FOR BOOK AVAILABILITY AND RETURN
It is a 2nd level Data Flow Diagram where after entering STUDENT LOGIN
he/she can select a book after entering the book detail, he/she can select the book
option and if the maximum no. of book limit is not crossed then a request will be
sent to the system and show will approve the book availabilities. For returning of
book student will code their student ID for identification. Decoding of book for
returning is the last part done by the librarian.

CHAPTER V
SUMMARY
The major purpose of this study was to design a library system that can
provide information among individuals using MS Excel concerning borrowing of
books with regards to its availability. Specifically, the researchers identified MS
Excel, a software to make a system in accordance with the requirements both
14
hardware and software. It determined the capabilities of MS Excel to make a
Library System concerning of borrowing of books in relation with its availability. It
recognized the relationship of data, formulas and sheets.
Moreover, the researchers made the Library System with five (5) sheets
containing a sample data list of books and registered students of PATTS College
of Aeronautics, Student Check In Form, Borrowing of Book Form and Return
Form. The researchers utilized the MS Excel and made the Library System with a
sample population of thirty (30) students with the following information: Student ID,
Name, Section and Year and twenty (20) books with the following information:
Book Name, Author, Date Released, Publisher, Book Edition, Book Control No.,
Total Number of Copies and Availability.
Conclusion
1. The researchers found out the potential to make an accurate library system
with the use of Microsoft Excel only applicable with small database intended
only for small library.
Recommendation
15
1. The library system can be improve in the near future using a Microsoft Excel
as basic tool but with the support of other software like SQL Management
Server Software and Microsoft Access in which is applicable for larger
database intended for larger scale of library system.
